Into the pit of misery my friend. :) Football is a cruel, harsh mistress. So terrible.

But Sark has them on the right track and of course you have more money than any school in America, so we can expect to see the Evil Empire again in the playoffs soon (unfortunately).
yeah I'm pissed. texas could have won that game. sark is dumb for not playing manning over ewers. it reminds me of how mack brown bungled Chris Simms and major appelwhite. but, I'm glad sark is turning things around at texas. it beats the alternative. where we were before he got there.

I’m glad Texas lost! They shouldn’t have been there in the first place. Maybe I’m still upset about the non targeting call but overall, ASU outplayed Texas.

Before the OSU/Texas game tonight, I kept saying it was probably good ASU lost because they’d get killed against OSU. But after painfully watching the game, I think ASU would have beat both these teams. Now I’m pissed off again!

I did get a good laugh when Texas was begging for a targeting call when it was obvious the defender drilled a receiver in the shoulders.

Sawyer has been playing out of his mind in these playoffs. He had a really nice year but nothing like this.
Never thought OSU was in danger of losing this game. They were the better team. Texas never led.
I had said earlier in the draft prospect thread that I thought Sawyer would be a better pro than college player and would be great in round 3.
He's played himself up where no chance he's there in round 3.

Meanwhile Ewers draft stock is sinking.

Sure the NFL is starving for QBs, and it's a down year for college QBs generally, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Quinn fall out of the first round.

I mean maybe Lorenzo. Manning can't block for himself and neither can Ewers. And despite throwing 50 TDs against N. Texas State (or whoever that was earlier in the year) Manning is still an unknown quantity.

When you lose a big game like this, you always go back and look at every decision. Every play call. But over 60 minutes, one decision has less importance than one might think.

Texas was right there, but other guys made a play. It sucks but I think you have to live with it. You back your coach who got you that close and live to fight another day.

Unless you want Charlie Strong making the decisions again! :)

See you next October sucka! We gonna have somethin for ya! :) Be well Lorenzo.

i see a Trey Hendrickson comp for Sawyer

he seems like a "good" at all the qualities you look for but not "great" at any of them -- yet the production is there -- "budget" Aiden Hutchinson

btw: on other OSU player i liked:

Donavan Jackson at LT. Moved from guard to LT mid season when Josh Simmons got hurt and has looked really good against top comp

probably a guard in the NFL but sure has made some money in the last 8 weeks or so.

Excellent player and will be a guard in NFL. Probably a 2nd round pick. Heard he's an awesome dude too. If Simmons wouldn't have gotten hurt, I would have loved to see Jackson against the Michigan DT's. Would've been some top-notch talent going against each other.

I can see that comp. He's not athletically gifted, I have not seen any twitch or bend to his game. He looked slow off the line in the bowl game too. He looked just a smidge faster than Marcus Golden.

He's looks strong though and can bull rush at the college level but as we know different ballgame from the pros. Right now I would take him in the third round. I look forward to watching more tape on this dude as the draft approaches. We'll see where the big guys have him ranked.

Sorry I was a little salty last night. I know OU will be back lol. Probably will regret my OU sucks stuff. But I stand by it and the red rivalry is always my favorite game every year even if the two schools aren’t doing so great.

When I say manning should have played I think that call had to be made earlier in the year, not last night. That’s what is frustrating about this year. but it was still a great season and you are right that Sark is great compared to what texas had before. I don't know how he calls plays and manages that program as well as he does. I have to trust that he knows what he's doing with manning. we will see next year.

fwiw

watch the play he returned for a TD. Williams, the Texas RT he beat is (for now) spoken of as a 1st round Tackle (in fairness -- also his first game back after a knee injury)
