don't look now, but SA is currently 4th in the west by a half game to the jazz. chances this will continue are low, but if they do, does that change your thoughts on the importance of the 1 seed???

Not really, would you rather face the Jazz in the second round instead?

Edit: I honestly don't care about the seeding so much, as long as the Suns are fully healthy. I have no doubt the Suns can beat the Mavs in game 1 at Dallas if need be.

I pointed this out after the atl game. I also pointed out we are almost (barring dallas injury) locked in at 2, and that is fine. It's gonna be a tough bracket either way, but the 2 seed bracket might be easier (utah/lakers vs. sa/houston).

And yes, the easiest team in the 2nd round is utah. I could care less about the 0-3 record is. We all know how those games unfolded.

Look at nash's quote after the last game saying we would beat them the next three times we played them.

When have you heard nash talk like that, he knows we can handle utah too.

I don't know who I'd rather play. Right now I'm worried more about Utah but I think in playoff time, because of experience they will be equal. I'd also rather have Dallas play LA because they have trouble with them almost as much as we do with Utah. Kobe just kills Dallas.

I would almost be content with the Suns not winning the championship if the Mavs got beat by LA in the first round... Almost.

They would play in the 2nd round and if we don't win a championship that would mean LA beat us. I'd rather be swept by the Mavs than lose any playoff games to the Lakers. I just think they'd be a better match-up for us.

Well me too, but that's how bad losing to the Lakers would be, it would be worse than that. :)

Kobe has been held below his season average so far this year. Dallas has won 2 of the 3 games. The lakers barely got that one win by 1 point. Kobe didn't go off that game either.

Kobe's much more dangerous when he only scores around 25 points, but gets his entire team involved and they score well. I think the Lakers are easier to beat when Kobe tries to score 50+ and takes 30+ shots.

I would rather play SA for nothing other then the mental factor. I think the Suns are over any mental advantage SA once had. Utah on the other hand scares me. Not because I think they are better but because the match up well. Now factor in any mental advantage over beating us several times....that's trouble.

I'm not thrilled about playing Utah or San Antonio in the playoffs. Both of those teams are allowed to play a more physical game and can give us trouble. I would actually prefer San Antonio over Utah because Utah has more scrappy hustle players and they probably reach & hack more (TNT announcer: WHAT AN AMAZING DEFENSIVE PLAY!). The only real concern I have about facing San Antonio is Ginobili flopping and ending the season for some of our players.

Not really against Dallas. Dallas does well against everyone else because of their size of the frontcourt. Against Dallas Kobe needs to have a big game otherwise his team will have problems scoring. Phoenix had a size disadvantage last year and so Odom had the biggest advantage in that series so yeah Kobe getting Odom involved was big.

I think Utah would give you guys (and the Mavs) more trouble than the Spurs. They would be better able to keep up with your pace and have a better winning record against the 16 current playoff teams (I think it's an impressive 20-7, better than Dallas and any other team right now). San Antonio on the other hand is something like 14-13 right now.
