Injuries didn't help. I don't think they made that much of a difference though. The Kings were without Monk and DeRozen only played the first half. Losing a player in game is typically harder to overcome since you can gameplan for someone not being available. Having to switch things up halfway through in a way that allows you to keep playing well is harder.
The main issue was the Suns defense that allowed fhe Kings to shoot 64% from the field and 54% from 3. The only reason the score wasn't incredibly lopsided is the Suns 19 offensive rebounds. That kept it within 30 points. The Suns still shot a paltry 37% overall and 30% from 3. They also shot 73% from the FT line. Those shooting splits will almost always lead to a loss.
