Counsell just left the game with an oblique injury and from Counsell's reaction, it could be serious. Don't like to see a player get injured but this might be what the Diamondbacks needed.

Oddly enough, Drew is not playing tonight in Tucson. Hmmmmm.

Are you saying that this is a conspiracy? I knew it!

I am not happy Counsell is injured but at the same time I'm excited to see Drew come up. He's one of the future starts of the team and I want to see what he's got.

I love Counsell and hope he gets healthy quick but I can't wait to watch Drew play. Exciting stuff

We need Counsell healthy because we could possibly get good value in return for him come the trade deadline.

I'm excited too but I bet he goes 1 for 10 and makes 3 errors in his first 3 games up.

That sums it up. This is a move a lot of us wanted anyway, and now the team's hand is forced.

Heal up, Rudy....but go Drew!

Don't expect Drew to start tonight, Easley is 3-4 against Capuano with a homer.

Additionally Melvin wants Drew to have time to "get settled." Its probably best anyway, with Webby on the mound there will be a lot of ground balls, it would be kind of throwing Drew right into the fire.

This is one of the most exciting moments for a fan in sports. The arrival of a stud rookie is what can be the difference in your team for the next ten years if you hit the jackpot. Who knows? What if Stephen Drew is so good (much like Albert Pujols) that he immediatly comes in and becomes the teams best hitter and carries the team to a strong second half. I'm not saying it's likely but the potential is there.

It's how i felt when I first started watching Amare and what will most def happen for me when Matt Lienart gets on the field.

Can't wait for Upton either.....

Looks like Drew will be starting tonight. This from Rotoworld:

Diamondbacks recalled shortstop Stephen Drew from Triple-A Tucson.
He's batting eighth tonight. Manager Bob Melvin said the left-handed-hitting Drew would be his everyday shortstop while Craig Counsell was out. Since he actually had an OPS 200 points higher against left-handed pitching in Triple-A, the Diamondbacks might as well give it a try. He should have some value in NL-only leagues. Looks like that isnt going to happen. Counsell is apparently out at least 3 weeks and the deadline is just over 2 weeks away.
