Um, let me think.........No!
Massie starting has kind of been what I've been thinking. He started all last year and played well. He was the starter until the suspension so it wouldn't surprise me if he re-gained the starting position, sooner rather than later.Massie could end up being the starting RT for the Cards. Maybe even sooner than we think:
Mike Jurecki @mikejurecki
BA: Earl Watford has played well in the run game but has given up too many hits on the QB.

I said it was doubtful anybody would offer up a 3rd round pick. I'm not trading him for a 4-6th rounder though. I'm sure if they did trade him, which is very unlikely, it would be for a conditional pick based on PT with the other team. What team is going to paid a 3rd rounder for 10 games of a guy who's a pending free agent already in Stage 4 of the SA Program?
I'd certainly take a trade for a 4th-6th round pick, but no one is going to give that up for a half-season rental.
My question is if freeny is such a good pass rusher, why is he still a FA?

Depth is a valuable asset. We are playing to win THIS year. Keep him.The something we will get from him is depth on the offensive line, in case of injury, during a season the Cardinals will be in the mix for a championship. Even if his production for this year is only a single game that helps bring a trophy, that is more valuable than a future mid-round draft pick.
For Massie, it would be better to show a commitment to his current team and give the appearance of taking the suspension and possible demotion like a man. Free agency can bring a sense of desperation for some organizations, and if more than one team is interested, Massie will get a nice pay check. Pushing for a trade, and spending half the season trying to adjust to a new team (either on the bench or looking bad) could easily diminish his value - not just in dollars but in the number of teams looking to bring him in.
Even if he just rides the bench, it is worth it to the Cardinals to have someone on the roster ready to step in. During the off season, Massie's agent can easily spin the 'got in the doghouse, but has learned from it' angle. It is just too risky (for both sides) to trade for a mid-round pick. Not to mention the risk of the other franchise handing over a draft pick for a possible non-starter, already with a suspension, that is in his last contract year.
Just don't see the value for any of the involved.
If Chris Johnson is such a good RB, why was he still a FA?
Cause he was shot in the off season and not fully recovered until around then time he was signed?
