I mostly like Spring Training out here. Especially now that the Giants are gonna suck and it's a lot easier to get tickets for the lawn at Scottsdale Stadium, which is two blocks from here. Well, except for the days when the disgusting, unwashed Cub fans take over the bar district. Only in sCubbyland can you go from being "lovable losers" to "insufferable degenerate winners" in 5 seconds. Maybe they could hire Lee Elia to give the fans a pep talk. :)

The DB's are getting hamstrung by that Greinke deal. I doubt management wants to go into luxury tax land, meaning they will have little else in the bank for new players. Especially one that would replace Martinez/s bat, if they lose him to Bahstahn.

All the more reason for a salary cap and revenue sharing in baseball. There is no reason for the teams in a competitive league to have different rules to operate under. New York, Chicago, and LA shouldn't end up with every player. This isn't real life, its (jazz hands) entertainment.

I see, said the blind man. I guess no love for Spring Training. ;)

In other news: P S. Miller wins arbitration against the team, despite being a 3-12 schlep with a 6+ ERA.
