Cowboys DE Spears out for year (AP)

The Dallas Cowboys have placed defensive end Marcus Spears on injured reserve, ending his season. Spears injured his calf Sunday in the third quarter against Green Bay. The sixth-year veteran out of LSU had 24 tackles this season, including one for a loss. Also placed on injured reserve was kick returner Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who hurt his ankle two weeks ago against Jacksonville.
