Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is hoping for a strong return in his third NFL season. The former third-round pick suffered a significant knee injury in 2024, tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL in Week 14.
When he takes to the field in 2025, he'll make franchise history thanks to his jersey.
Overshown will wear No. 0 this season and, in doing so, will be the first Dallas Cowboys player to wear that number. The franchise announced the change with a video posted to their social media channels.
Overshown previously wore No. 13 with the Cowboys in his rookie year in 2023 and in 2024.
He wore No. 31 in his first two college seasons at Texas before changing to No. 0 when he took on a starting role for the Longhorns and kept that for his final three seasons. With this change, Overshown gets back to the number he wore when he became one of the best linebackers in college football.
In 2023, the NFL allowed players to wear No. 0 for the first time in 50 years. Offensive and defensive linemen were not allowed to make that change.
Here's who wore No. 0 in the NFL last year:
Overshown has played in 13 games in the NFL with 12 starts and compiled the following stats:
