Expiring contracts don't hold the value they did 10 or even 5 years ago. What deals have been made recently that involved expirings without draft picks have been made for starter level players over the last 5 years?

The idea of moving an expiring for value without picks attached is like planning on winning the lottery. It's possible, sure, but very unlikely.

I wasn’t suggesting starter level players. This likely would be a for bench guy….who can actually contribute. There are plenty of those every year.

Here is an interesting tidbit. Chris Paul has scored more 4th quarter points than Kevin Durant in the Clippers series.

1 point differential. Not a big deal. What is the bigger deal is maybe this means he is rounding back into 4th quarter clutch CP3 that we depended on so much in the past. That would give us 3 legit players to close games.

Expiring contracts have proven to be really valuable trade assets in this league.

Not in recent years. I thought that for a couple years but we haven’t seen that play out in the last 4-5 years.
