Most observers see several Oline prospects going in round 1. The biggest debate surrounds the Dline choices. Some observers see several DTs going in round 1, while others see Edge rushers being the most sought after. The Cards are actually positioned a little too early to be confident of the trend. This is important as the Cards will likely take one of each in the top 2 rounds. So figuring out who will drop is critical. At the moment I favor a DT in round 1. That’s because I’d like the rare player who can anchor against the run, but also help collapse the pocket.

If you’re thinking trade down, the draft order doesn’t set up well for that.

Could actually sign Campbell. Not the player he was but still useful for leadership and mentorship.
I don’t know Harry. He’ll be damn near 40 years old. It appears we have leaders.
Here’s my dilemma. Do we go big in free agency for a DT and draft an edge rusher. Or do we spend the money on an edge rusher and draft a DT?

OR, do we sign a DT and an Edge ( heavens to Betsy) and draft o-line?

You gauge both for FA and see what the cost is. You get one for sure. If we get two in FA it really opens options in the draft

He’s old but played at a fairly high level the last 2 years. He’s just a rotation/situation guy at this point I do not see a leader on the Oline though I guess Hernandez tried to be. Of course there’s no certainty he returns.

It's early but I am hoping one of the Michigan DTs are sitting there for us to take.

Which free agent though? Jamies Winston? Gardner Minshew?
Not a QB as Kyler will be here next year. Sweat or KC guard as the prize signing. We have to get one impact FA this offseason maybe two and supplement with the draft. Need more tier one talent

I have seen Harmon mocked as high as 14 …32…and 46…I want Defense with the first 2 picks but wouldn’t doubt it all if we went o line in the first…seen a mock today that had the cards going will campbell at 14 and Harmon at 46….no edge …reasoning is we will bring back browning and with bj coming back and zaven and Thomas too many cooks in the kitchen…

No. Not sure where he was projected to go in the first place but if the injury knocks him down 2-3 rounds??

If we took him in round 3 or 4 I wouldn't have a problem with it myself. I am far from sure he is a lock to be a decent starter but we need to get some legit competition for Murray.

I think Zaven is a great back up. Not impactful enough to be a starter on a championship winning team however.

I'd take the dominant DT and look to FA for edge. Most SB winners have a dominant DT. See KC..rather pedestrian qb numbers but best DL in football gives them a chance every week as do the refs...but they can only steer a game so much. That KC D kept them alive.

If he's sitting there in round 3, which I think is highly unlikely, you'd 100% take him. I'd take him in round 2. Prior to the year, he was considered the #1 QB prospect.

Man if those are the cooks in the kitchen- this restaurant must be the homeless shelter soup kitchen. If monti doesn’t open up the checkbook for a real threat off the edge, we better be drafting one high.

I’m actually quite happy with our o-line, they just got decimated by injuries, which is honestly just bad luck. Depth never hurts but we have huge holes elsewhere.

Great insight, this is the way.

Forgot how much I miss Dockett. The offense problem is a puzzling solution, but the defense I truly believe is 1-2 good players away from being a dominant threat. Starts on the D line
