It's been at least three seasons since Gresham has done anything positive for the team. To think Keim gave him 8 mil per year!!!

It was a strange contract at the time...Still holding up as a bad signing with injuries and penalties...

In the long run fans will fondly remember Gresham for sending Wilks into sunset.

Gresham's contract gets even more woeful when you look at who we let go in order to keep him. His pattern of costly penalties is shocking. Don't want to see him on the field anymore. I can't imagine that there aren't any FA TEs or even the lesser known TEs on our roster who can't do a better job. Blocking specialists who don't commit stupid penalties can always be found on the street. And hey, maybe they can even hang onto a pass, unlike Gresham.

Has he ever done anything for us besides get boneheaded, hothead style penalties? It's literally the only thing I can remember him doing. A few games a season he gets some dumb, im angry type penalty. that's it.

I like Gresham and his attitude, but I do find it hilarious that this is the long terms contract that came out of a Keim Time Signing and it’s been awful.

Why?

I like a nasty attitude when it translates into positives. It seems the ONLY thing he brings to the table is a nasty attitude that gets penalties after the play.

Because (at least last season) everyone on our offense is S-O-F-T. He was a tone-setter, particularly as a downfield blocker.

Now, he's stealing reps from Ricky Seals-Jones, and I'm thinking it's because he can do his job more consistently. RSJ was the real loser from the McCoy firing; McCoy structurally liked to use the TE as the outlet. That came at the expense of David Johnson.

Every team needs one of those types - they can't all be Mr Nice Guys.

That contract was a major panic move by Keim!

They could cut him now if they wanted as there is enough cap space to absorb the hit. However I would wait till the last game of the season to cut him. He is the only decent blocking TE they have on the roster.

How do you consider it a panic move? It weird, because IIRC that was a pretty rich TE market and the Cards came in at the top of it. A lot of people here were saying that Gresham was getting paid for past service.

There was a high demand for TEs that year and nobody TEs were getting crazy money. Keim panicked and over paid for Gresham.

Josh Rosen: “[Fitzgerald] is one of the best football players to ever grace this field and the NFL is lucky to have him. If you’re just going to lie on him and be disrespectful, that’s just not going to fly, especially with Jermaine on your team. Push and shove me, whatever. That’s Mr. Fitzgerald. Don’t do that. I don’t care what situation or whatever. Our guys on our team, we’re going to stay together, and we got each other’s backs.”

Sure, it was a bad play by Gresham, but I still like that mentality. Just like Rosen has Gresham’s back with that exact quote.

How does Gresham also pick the absolute worse time for the penalties he incurs? They are absolute killers that bring big plays back or kill critical drives. Nasty attitude? No, he is a *******.

+1.

Seals (Dropsy)-Jones is no walk in the park either. They should replace the TE position on the Depth Chart with "Coach Killer."
