Some people don't practice well but are great when the lights come on...

Fair point. BA made a remark about Capi doing well in the games but it was against 2's and 3's and he needs to see it against 1's. I don't recall Capi getting the opportunity against 1's in PS games but I'd think he did get reps against Hump and Veldhere in practice.

My point is that you and JSG both posted that Capi did everything he could to make the team but obviously he should have performed better in practice.

It will be interesting to see if another team grabs him or if the Cards bring him back. I hope so because that means what we all saw in the games was more real than illusion.

The above tweet is me to Summers. I didn't like his response. I would venture a guess he didn't practice well against the 1s.
Or he is trying to down grade Cap's ability for the team so he makes it through waivers... or maybe they just don't like the guy lol

Does anyone of u excited to have a guy plating stellar during practice?
Personally game day( preseason too) is not even comparable to practices
So saying capi was cut cause of practices performances is questionable to hear, especially considering the impact he had this preseason

lots of waiver info coming in, waiver period is over and teams clearing for PS and whatnot. No info on us yet. Anyone we get on waivers has to be on the final 53 week one so unless there is someone we KNOW we want and willing to cut someone for them, I imagine we just pursue them later

How it works
When a team releases a player with less than four years of service, they are subject to the waiver process. Normally when a player is released, waivers runs the next day. For roster cuts, all players run through waivers on Sunday, whether they were released on Friday or Saturday.

The process involves a priority list ranking teams for claiming players. From the first day of the league year until the conclusion of Week 3 of the 2017 regular season, the priority is based on draft order. This means that the Cleveland Browns are the No. 1 team on the waiver priority list, while the Eagles are No. 12. This means that if the Eagles want to take a shot on a young player, they have to put a claim in on him, and then cross their fingers and hope that the 11 teams ahead of them do not put in a claim.

You might be used to the waiver process in your fantasy football league. The NFL waiver process is different in that the No. 1 team can claim as many players from waivers as they want, and they retain priority. The Browns essentially get first dibs on every player. They will stay in that position through Week 3 of the regular season.

waiver period ended at noon today

1. Players with less than four (4) years of service time (“non-vested” veterans) are “waived” and are subject to waivers. The normal waiver period in the NFL is 24 hours, but for the final cutdown to 53, the waiver period is shortened and ends at Noon on the following day (instead of the normal 4:00 p.m.). So, if another team wants to claim that player, they must do so by Noon on Sunday. If multiple teams place a waiver claim on the same player, the player is awarded to the team with the highest waiver priority (draft order during the 1st couple weeks of the season; the reverse order of the standings after week 3). If a player goes unclaimed, he clears waivers and is a free agent, free to sign wherever he can find work.

2. Players with 4+ seasons of service time are “released.” These players, known as “vested veterans,” do not pass through waivers and are free agents immediately, free to sign with any other team.

These rules apply until the trade deadline (presently the Tuesday after Week 8 of the NFL season). After the trade deadline (until the start of the next league year in March), all players – whether a vested veteran or a non-vested veteran – are “waived” and subject to the waiver process.

3. Injured players with 4+ seasons of service time can be immediately placed on Injured Reserve (IR).

4. Up until the final cutdown date, injured players with less than four years of service cannot go onto IR without first passing through waivers. Those players are released with the “waived/injured” designation. Known as “injury waivers,” this process exposes the player to waivers, but warns other teams that the player is injured. If the player clears injury waivers, the team can then either place the player on IR or agree to an injury settlement (paying the player for the weeks that he is expected to be recovering from his injury) and then release the player.

Have u ever heard about the
hidden gem?
Sure, and he could be.. but the reality is he is most likely a guy who is better than most 3rd stringers. He's this year's member of the Lance Long All-Stars.

QB Brandon Allen got cut by the Jags...he looked really good in the preseason. Would like to see him on our PS.

Brandon Allen - QB - Free Agent
Jaguars waived QB Brandon Allen.

It is a bit of a surprise after some beat writers speculated on Allen getting a look as the starter when things inevitably go wrong with Blake Bortles and Chad Henne. Jacksonville likely will try to stash him on the practice squad.

If he makes our practice squad he might play that role
