Sales of the Arizona Diamondbacks' $25 corn dog have been so brisk that the team's concessionaires can't wait for a week-long road trip that starts Friday so that they can prep enough to be ready for the team's April 11-13 homestand against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Diamondbacks are selling the D-Bat -- an 18-inch corn dog stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapenos and bacon and served with fries -- for $25.

The 18-inch corn dog, called the D-Bat, is stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapenos and bacon and is served with a side of fries.

The corn dog became a social media star when the team announced the item two weeks ago. Team president and CEO Derrick Hall said at the time that he didn't have any expectations, but Hall told ESPN.com on Wednesday that the item has been so successful, the team needs some catch-up time.

Wow, that is pretty pricey - even for a ballpark. But hey, people are gobbling them up, so...

Not bad considering we're gonna draw about 18k attendance per game

I saw a bunch of people with these on Monday Night. The amount of fries is ridiculous. A bit bigger in length and width than the corn dog and about 4 inches deep

"the team's concessionaires can't wait for a week-long road trip that starts Friday so that they can prep enough to be ready for the team's April 11-13 homestand against the Los Angeles Dodgers."

Anybody else concerned why they need so much time to prepare corn dogs?

The Churro Dog is a warm cinnamon churro sitting inside a Long John chocolate-glazed donut, which is then topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauces. Its estimated calorie count is 1,117.

:thud:
Damn. I gained 5 pounds just looking at it. :)

That churro dog really doesn't look all that appetizing to me.

If your team sucks I guess you can still get attention for doing crap like this year after year.

At least they use frozen yogurt instead of ice cream to keep the calorie count down.....

BEHOLD THE NEW ELVIS JABBERDOG BROWNIE
The Rangers are playoff bound and have some aggressive food items for the postseason. This is a two-foot long brownie rolled in Rice Krispies crust, dipped in funnel cake batter and fried and costs $26, it is presumably named after SS Elvis Andrus and not Presley, although the singer might have approved.

Big congrats to the D'Backs for expanding their food options this year...even with two vegan options that sound delicious!

Arizona Diamondbacks provide look at 2016’s new food items

Cheeseburger Dog: Made from char-grilled hamburgers that have been ground up and mixed with chopped smoked bacon, dill pickles, green onion and Cheddar cheese. The “dog” is breaded with milk and seasoned flour, much like our chicken tenders, then deep fried until crispy and served on a hot dog bun topped with more chopped smoked bacon, shredded iceberg lettuce, diced tomato and our house made secret sauce. It will be available for $10.00 at Big Dawgs on the main concourse and Extreme Loaded Dogs on the Diamond Level.

Pit Viper Sandwich: Pit-smoked pork, caramelized onions and Yancey’s Fancy Peppadew Cheddar cheese on thick-cut bread, battered and fried until golden with our house made Snake Bite BBQ sauce. It will be available for $20 at Taste of Chase.

Poor Boy Sandwich (Vegan): Crispy Gardein fishless filet topped with vegan Thousand Island dressing and spicy coleslaw on a soft roll. It will be available for $12.50 on the in-seat menu.

Arizona Farms Grilled Cheese Cart, which features a variety of grilled cheese options, including:

– The Arizona Cheese, starring Arizona Colby

– The Pit-Smoked Cheese, featuring smoked BBQ brisket and Arizona Cheddar

– The Southwest Cheese, which includes pico de gallo and Arizona Pepper Jack

– All sandwiches are served on full loaf slices of gourmet bread and griddled to gooey perfection

Kick’n Chick’n Wrap (Vegan): Grilled Gardein Chick’n, roasted corn, baby spinach, romaine lettuce, “Follow Your Heart” Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, black beans, green onions and chipotle BBQ dressing. It will be available for $8.50 on the in-seat menu.
