Don't get this. Gallaraga is a 150 innings/year type pitcher, AL to boot. In a hitters park like Chase Field with that big black background, his pitches will look like volleyballs. He's not so great against righties and BA/against on away games approached .300. He's 29 with three years in the league and a lot of time up and down between majors/minors.

Someone must be enamored with his perfect game, because he's pretty what he's going to be the rest of his career -- a No. 5. And not a No. 5 in a good rotation.

I like that we are making moves to have some depth in the rotation. This is a big year for the D-Backs we need to win back the fan base.

Agreed. I don't get why fans wouldn't be happy with this. I get his splits are bad and his ERA isn't all that great but he did have the stuff to throw a perfect game and hes projected as the #5 starter. Your looking for that guy to help get your team a win every other time he goes out and I think we could do lot worse then Galarraga, including with Enright.

And like you mentioned - hes quality pitching depth. He might be more 4.50 ERA then perfect game, but I like the thinking in making this trade.
