Seven innings so far in this game, plus yesterday's nine, and the D'back don't have an earned run. And yesterday's Washington starter was thrown out of the game by the umpire.

Young is back at leadoff. Strikes out alot, and second on the team in HR, and he's back to batting leadoff?

Is Melvin getting incentive pay for stupidity? Geez.

I miss Thom B, he would be calling these clowns out. I am sick of hearing what a great pitching performance by some no name on the other team. Sutton suger coating of crap is hard to listen to. Its not the pitcher its the crappy hitters.

I don't like Gracie's immaturity during the telecasts, but he is pretty vocal about the D'backs performances. Making opposing marginal pitchers look good. A token hit-and-run call here and there. Inconsistent batting orders.

During today's game, I actually thought that Gracie was a breath away from saying, "What the hell is wrong with Melvin?" One of these days, he might.

Wow, it's 6:25 Arizona time and Grace just said that the Managing Partner and GM are there in Washington and must see what's going on.

I'm hoping for during the All Star break.

Part of the reason Thom was "free to go." He called it like it was, and management did not enjoy that. Though, I do like what Grace said tonight:

"The Diamondbacks better start hitting. If they don't, they'll find themselves with a new teammate. His number is 25."

Sutton and especially Grace were getting disgusted with how the team was performing. I noticed Sutton's spirited post-game comment of "Haren has to be thinking that tomorrow, 'I can not give up ONE run' " . All this admiration for the 300-pound Meat Hook took over the show. Hey Daron, the Nationals ERA in this series is ZERO.

Will Bergmann serve up some payback from Owings using his teammates like bowling pins? Maybe he should, so it would wake up the D-backs, start something, show some LIFE. Let's see Melvin get tossed from a game, get fired up out there, kids!

In the case of an effective Manager, that would be a motivator.

In the case of a Manager who doesn't have a clue, and announces it to the Press after each game, uh uh.

Part of Melvin's problem is that he is passive-aggressive (and not very aggressive). Waiting for things to happen -- a homerun; coming out of the "slump"; etc. Then getting thrown out of a game once a month.

The young Diamondback batters and frustrated pitchers need alot more leadership than that.

At least Haren is doing a great job thus far. Unfortunately he is at 80 pitches through 5 innings. I hope he can go at least 2 more...

wow what a great game by Haren only two hits through 9 innings man i'm still not at all happy with the offense only two runs vs the nationals? How many runs did these guys score this series 3? But atleast Haren showed up today and pitched a shotout now if Lyon comes in hopefully he can get job done.

Ouch. Melvin tried to do the right thing by Haren and screwed the pooch. So now Haren is pissed, Lyon is pissed, Melvin is pissed, etc.
