According an ESPN article, KK said that Hopkins checked himself back into the game a few times. Said they wanted him to stay off the field, but he would just run on. KK said that they appreciated his competitiveness, but wanted him to be smart.

I know I have never seen anything like that.

If the article is correct, therein lies the problem when a head coach doesn't have control of what is going on during a game. If I had a player do that his next step would have been escorted back to the locker room.
