Didn't see a thread for this anywhere...

Who would you want the Suns to face if we make it past the Clippers?

I was always pulling for Dallas...since we've had the most success against them in the past, especially Nash last year.

But they are looking good...and whooped up on the Spurs last night.

I'd take Dallas every day of the week and twice on sundays, I think they own us mostly mentally! we just don't play smart against them. Go Mavs!

Shouldn't this be a poll? For the record, I would say Dallas. Since when do the Mavs own us mentally? Since they lost last year's playoff series to us in 6 games?

I think he meant to say the Spurs.

Give me Mavs. I still think Mavs has a good chance beating Spurs.

Yeah I kinda forgot to insert the spurs there, I thought it though, does that count! :D

Sure, figured that might be the case, but the sentence left much to be desired.

I don't know who here would prefer to meet Spurs than Mavs.

I think either team will beat us so it doesn't matter.

I can also see us getting crushed.

I'd prefer a matchup versus the Mavericks assuming the Suns can get past the Clips. Although tonight's game should be nail biting.

But I agree with Chris above, it doesn't matter because the Spurs or Mavs will eliminate the Suns/Clips winner anyway.

Both are just much better teams at this point.

If you are counting on KT to be back by then, the Mavs make a lot of sense for the Suns because of the matchups. Marion, by default, takes Dirk, but Diaw will be allowed to freely switch because KT would have the joy that comes with guarding centers who don't make a difference.

Furthermore, the more minutes KT might play, the better the Suns defense will be -- less doubling/trapping, more extending man-to-man out to the 3-point line. That possible benefit it much less rewarding against the Spurs, because Duncan kills us with passes out of the post ... doesn't really make a difference how we play defense.

It would be great if the suns beat the spurs, imagine all the explanations of the experts, like chucky and Greg Anthony. They would be sooo uncomfortable in their cushy jobs!! I also want to see how Leandro can punish the spurs for tight defense at the 3pt line. I think that TT can make either Mohammed or Duncan play outside the lane on D, opening up the middle for Leandro. Dallas would also be sweet, to have the MVP sink cubans boat one more time. The final with Detroit might be ugly, too many quick big men who can play physical D, run.

I'm not afraid of jinxes, but the conference finals are two weeks away. I think we can worry about the Spurs or Mavericks if the Suns are fortunate enough to advance. Also, we'll know a lot more about the relative strength of those two teams by then. The Spurs are creaky, and it wouldn't surprise me that much if this series leaves them pretty banged up.

Mavs beat Spurs because their swing and guards are too quick and strong for the Spurs to defend. They just can't stay in front of Howard, Harris, or even Daniels. Somehow, we'd be better than the Spurs at that. Marion, JJ were abused last season by Howard. Yet, this year, Marion become a better perimeter defender while Diaw and Bell are better than JJ defensively.

Anyway, I prefer Mavs as our opponents in the WCF.

Oh this is not even a question....Tha Dallas mavericks....They match up horribly with us (Marion guards Dirk better than anyone in the L) they have a rookie coach, and they will be more enitced to play our style of basketball. Even with this decimated team, i think we can beat them. If the bracket some how falls Lakers - Clippers- Mavericks - NJ or MIA we can win a title......even with 2/5's of our starting rotation out.....

Damn, I just posted a long post and it said I wasn't logged in so I lost it...

I just said that I think we match up well with the Mavs and can beat them and we have this season. Their offense in the paint is pretty bad and I think we can stop that. Dampier and Diop's offense is worse than Kwame's and Dirk is mostly a shooter and Marion should again do a decent job on him. The Mavs improved D can work on the Spurs. Diop and Dampier are shot-blocking masters but they will not be able to run with us. I don't really feel like rooting for either of these teams but I hope the Mavs can take it.

I also said that the Clippers and Elton Brand scare me more right now than the Mavs will in a couple weeks. I predict we'd beat the Mavs in 7 and lose to the Spurs in 6. If we play the Pistons in the Finals we should lose, but you never know. Their bench is HORRIBLE.
