I know the PHNX guys aren't popular here but they had a bit about this I basically agreed with. Because we're not certain about Kyler at QB, it's going to be VERY hard for us to trade for a pass rusher. If you believe Parsons, Crosby or Myles Garrett will get traded, and right now all 3 say they don't want a trade, it's highly likely it would take a first round pick in 25 AND 26 to get them. And the Cards can't really trade their 26 first rounder because it's entirely possible they will need it for a QB.

If you're looking at those 3 I'd rate them Parsons, Crosby, Garrett entirely on age, Parsons is 25, Crosby 27, Garrett 29.

You can mitigate that by trading Kyler and recouping a pick or include him in the pass rusher trade (say to Vegas).

Not an easy answer to one of the biggest needs that the Cards have. Reality is that the free agents available are nothing special and the best edge rushers in the draft will most likely be gone by the time the Cards pick. Looks like the solution is to overpay for a free agent and use early round draft choices on filling this need and just hope we get lucky.

He is a special teams demon and an injury replacement at pass rusher - that's it.

He was a good rotation rusher before the election injuries.

You can mitigate that by trading Kyler and recouping a pick or include him in the pass rusher trade (say to Vegas).

Sure if Dallas says we'll give you Parsons for Kyler and a first you probably strongly consider it. But you do so with the understanding that you're probably going to be terrible next year unless you have a plan B that gives you a QB.

We have discussed it here to death this is NOT the draft to need a QB and in particular not the draft to need one outside of the first round, there's just nobody there you can realistically expect to get outside the first round and play right away. So if you trade this years pick, AND Murray, you HAVE to get a QB in FA or you are tanking for next year.

The problem is all 3 of the guys we're talking about the ONLY reason they might want a trade is they're sick of losing, none of them are going to want to come to arizona, sign a new deal, without having a clue who the QBOTF is.

So then you're in the probably have to overpay for Darnold scenario

Has a team ever traded their franchise QB, and traded for a franchise Edge in the same season? I can't recall one ever...

That would be one hell of a rework/rebuild.
