Source: Dallas is Shopping the 28

By Rafael Vela

Like that was any real press-stopping nugget…
My source, who spoke to someone in the Cowboys’ personnel department, told me the team has the current strategy of filling a need at pick 22, most likely at RB but at CB if one falls;

I was told the team will not force the pick at 28 for a CB or WR if the value is not there. I asked if we could see an OT or LB at 28 and he said yes, if that was the best player and Dallas could not find a trade down partner.

The Cowboys are looking to move the 28. But here’s the rub. I understand that the Chargers at 27 and even the Jaguars at 26 are also looking for trade-down partners.
Maybe we could trade out of the second to get someone like Cason or something.

I would be all for another 2007 Branch type of move. Trade up to get the guy you want at the bottom of the first or at the top of the 2nd.

Stewart or Mendebhall #16, Cason #28........I like it........
If we did that I would be trilled and consider our draft a success...until 4 years from now when those guys that we laughed at and said, "Who?", that Seattle drafts become Pro Bowlers while our guys wallow in mediocrity.

Someone...please...get me some kool-aid.

According to the draft trade chart the #28 is worth our 2nd 3rd and 4th round draft picks.....too rich for my blood.

#16. Stewart or Mendenhall

#50. Cason (if he falls)/King/Porter/Flowers/????

That would work better because we keep our picks........

I would think a team wanting a QB would be the most likely candidate to trade back into the first round and grab the one (Flacco, Henne or Brohm) they want, assuming he's still available.

I'd take there 28. And there second and third and give them our 16. Very deep draft at need positions, stockpile mid round picks.

sarcasm aside.....I do think the cowboys would trade one of their picks if they could get a good deal in any aspect. this is pretty much what they do in the draft almost every year. they usually don't sale out to move up though.....they are usually more willing to move down. one thing that jones appears to want more than anything else is another vetran WR(rather than drafting one). he has pretty much come out and said it. but I don't know that the cards will trade boldin anyway. we'll see...it should be a very interesting draft because of all of the players around the league being touted as trade bait. boldin not being one of those to my knowledge though(at least officially)

Seriously.... If Boldin was traded to the Cowboys I would have to make one of two tough choices.

1. Start rooting for the Cowboys.

2. Shoot myself.

I am really not sure which I would choose at this point.

I don't think either of the three will happen.

I want nothing to do with the Cowboys. No trades with them from us. I'm tired of Jerry Jones getting what he wants. The thought of smashing Tony Homo to the ground sounds very cool. I hope it happens this year.

can't wait......I'll be there to see the outcome. I really didn't know what to expect from romo the last time the cowboys came here and he played beyond my expectations. the cards should be better this go around.
