He had 13 tackles. He also was all over the field batting balls, covering fumbles, applying pressure the the QB etc etc.

He was a flat out stud yesterday and it just kills you inside :)

:bigyawn: We'll see what happens over the course of the season. If you want to say Daryl Washington has arrived because he looked solid against the terrifying twosome of Dan Orlovsky and Steve Slaton, more power to you.

He looked better than Monty Beisel. I guess I got PWN3D.

I didn't say anything other than he was a flat out stud last night. No more no less. He did what he had to do against who was on the field with him. Certainly better than the alternative. Your just a hater. Nothing new.

The same Slaton who had 93 receptions, 1700 yards rushing, and 19 TD's the last two years? :lame:

Yeah he sucks

A stud? Watch him again when the #1s were out there, Shane. He was getting blasted by offensive linemen and he looked hesitant in coming up to make plays. He settled in and played very well once the backups came in, but he wasn't a stud in the first quarter. That's just the fact of the matter.

Yeah. The Slaton who had 437 yards rushing and 3.3 YPC last season and might not make the roster this year. The same Slaton who rode pine for the entire month of December. I know you're being disingenuous here, because you know as well as I do that Steve Slaton has become the Texans' version of LaRod Stephens-Howling.

Not make the roster? hahaha now you are way off base. He is running with the second team right now and will split duties. He was benched last year due to his fumbles.

And no one could run the ball last year for the texans. they were last in the league in rushing.

Im not going to argue about Slaton, point is we arent talking about the second team for Portland St or ASU here.

Seeing as I was sporting his Autographed Jersey, I keyed on Williams most of the game.

I thought he had an OK game. He wasn't demanding double teams or anything. At times I thought he was playing a bit too high. However he appeared to control his gaps pretty well. I did like his hustle and he moved really well for a big guy. Though he did look winded after the plays were over. I'm sure that had to do with nerves/adrenaline.

I don't think he moved up any in the depth chart though. He clearly is #3 behind Watson and Robinson right now.

Did you come in through Gate 3? I think I saw you in the frisk line. I'm sure there aren't a ton of people out there in Authentic autographed Dan Williams jerseys. :D

Those big holes that Daryl Washington was running through late in the game? Those were created by Dan Williams.

He wasn't demanding double-teams--yet--but he was positioning his man in run and pass defense that opened holes for linebackers and defensive backs in pursuit. He was doing exactly what you want him to do.

I will say that he definitely looks the part. Super-solid looking. He looks shorter than the other DL because he is, but he's just super-thick. Not super-fat, but like rectangular.

Then Williams must have switched numbers with Watson, on at least one occasion.
