I gotta wonder how much this really works.. Some of those football players aint exactly all-pro's.. Unless the chamber enables them to just make a NFL squad cuz without it they would really suck..

I haven't clicked the link, but I don't think these things are supposed to make you better football players. They're supposed to help with your health and (now I'm guessing here) the oxygen in your blood.

Actually there is one other useful benefit to them. The live low/train high philosphy that some endurance athletes use. For example a cyclist will train here in the rocky mountains during the day (7500-9500 ft elevation for max benefit) then come down to Denver to sleep for the night, wake up and then repeat. Coming down to Denver ~5500ft elevation provides more oxygen for tissue rebuilding while still staying high enough for accelerated erythropoesis (Red blood cell production).

The cheaters way to do that would be to take an oxygen tent/hyperbaric chamber up to the mountains and trick your body into thinking it went back down to Denver for the night.

Claustrophobia.

I have heard of people sealing their hotel rooms off and pumping O2 into the room. Kinda the poor mans version of the chamber.

TO came out about 5 years ago bragging about his, and apparently it has been the "in" thing to get.

The entire Vancouver Canucks hockey team used them when they made a run at the Cup a few years back...about 10 years, or so, ago. That was the 1st time I had ever heard of one being used for sports.
