Slightly off topic but still related. I have to laugh at the irony of the Yankee fans jeering Robinson Cano for "selling out" and chasing the money.

The truth is that Minter would have had to play at an all-pro level to push Dansby to the bench . Let's face facts , Dansby got that 14 mil. guaranteed in his contract because of his probowl level play last season .
Before I throw Minter under the bus , I will give the kid a chance to show me that he does not belong under the bus . He just might be pretty good .

The article makes no sense. DD says he chased the money, then the author says chasing the ring makes no sense go after the money there's less variables.

That's the point, he DID chase the money .If he's ok with that fine, but don't let Dansby act like he's above responding to that either he believes Cleveland is going to be better than the Cards soon, or he chased the money.

Has a perfect right to do it, but that doesn't mean Dockett wasn't correct in saying he did it.

Dansby's comments make it easier for the players to move on and play their asses off.

This my take, Dansby chased the money... well cool, I won't knock the guy late in his career for what the Browns gave him but admit the truth which DD and everyone else knows and do not put it down to a divine epiphany

That is the ONE problem with Dansby is that he refuses to admit the obvious and tries to front as if it's not.

The only free agent I ever remember flat out saying it was all about the money was that OG we signed in the late 90s early 00s.

Can't remember his name. He was a decent starter for a few years.

No problem with what Dansby did. He was a FREE AGENT.

Dockett bitched and moaned about a contract for 3 seasons WHILE UNDER CONTRACT. Typical attention-whorring from #90.

Why wouldn't we see him in January? Phoenix is a great vacation spot that time of year and since he will be living in sub freezing weather for most of the season, Phoenix will be a great choice. ;)

to be fair, not much happened with the Cardinals the last time he left.

circumstances are different in him leaving this time, but the offers were so substantially different, that I don't begrudge what Los did this time. when someone offers to double your salary and it's likely the last big check you're gonna get, that's got to be a really tough offer to turn down, no matter how much you've made in the past.

I thought this was funny as well. On a team with A-Roid, Teixeira, Sabathia, Beltran, Soriano, Suzuki, McCann...and that's just from this year's roster, all of whom signed with the Yankees for the money, and yet Cano is the sell out.

Since KD was drafted in 2004.

Cardinals winning % with Dansby .473 NFC Championship, 3 winning seasons, 2 at 10-6. 4 playoff wins.

Cardinals winning % without Dansby .375 No playoffs, no winning seasons

Dolphins winning % with Dansby .417 No playoffs, no winning seasons

He should have stayed in Arizona.

:)
