Suns.com: Have you seen any particular changes in him since the Western Conference Finals?
D'Antoni: I think he is really trying to buckle down on being a great defensive player. And that is big for us for next year and he knows that. He is working like crazy to improve on that and he has made some big improvements.
Suns.com: Do you think Amaré Stoudemire's skills are suited for international play, or is he so talented that he thrives in any type of game?
D'Antoni: Without a doubt, his game is suited to thrive anywhere. He has shown that here and he has also shown his willingness to accept a different role with this team. His willingness to go out and work as hard as he is and get better shows why he is so special and unique. He doesn't have to do this in the summer. He is First Team All-NBA. He will start tonight, he'll come off the bench. He'll take some shots, or maybe no shots. But just his ability to fulfill what the team needs, makes him unique. That's why we love him in Phoenix and why he is one of the best players in the game.
Sorry Irish but D'Antoni is feeding Suns.com a load of crap in order to improve Amare's "I have to be the man" image a bit. Let's not forget that Amare sulked on the bench until he started, and didn't play well until he started with the Suns last year.
He's accepted a more role playing role on a team of All-Stars, color me not impressed with Amare's work ethic. When he comes out this year as a defensive presense along with controlling his foul problem then I'll be a little more impressed.
