From hoopsworld:

NIKOLOZ TSKITISHVILI: Lack of physical conditioning will often cost you your job in the NBA, for Skita, there is a lot more to it than his missing the weight room. Skita was a rough and hidden gem when he surfaced in the draft. He had a stellar private workout and it got him drafted. His rookie campaign was good not great, but the Nuggets staff expected more growth from him, with the emergence of Carmelo Anthony as a star on the floor and Nene (formerly Hilario) in the four spot, the Nuggets have a promising under achiever sitting the bench. Many media pundits believe new Suns head coach Mike D’Antoni, will push to acquire Skita from the Nuggets, as Skita was a player D’Antoni coached while the head coach in Italy. The Nuggets seem open to the idea, but sources say things are moving too well to monkey with them, if Phoenix wants to part with an improved option, landing Skita in Phoenix may be possible, just unlikely. Nuggets GM Kiki Vandeweghe told media he wasn’t in the market for a deal saying "We don't have anything on the table right now... I am not looking to trade anyone right now."

--

In the few minutes I have seen Skits play, he has looked good, moving well and draining 3's. Don't think he would be a good fit here at the moment though.

LOL, I heard about that a couple days ago, and I was actually on my way to realgm to try and figure out a trade that would work.

Great minds think a lot I guess

Too bad there are trade guidelines. I mean aside from the salaries, Denver would probably take Archibald from us for Nikoloz straight up. They should allow that for lower salaried players of low years tenure. ;)

I was talking to one of my freinds who is a Nuggets fan when the season started mentioning them trading Skita this year. He has potential, but we have Zarko now. I wouldn't mind getting Skita if we didn't give up too much, like a Googs for Skita and something to make salaries work.

By "media pundits" I think he means David Aldridge. In a chat or small article last week he mentioned the possibility of D'Antoni reuniting with Tskitishvili. I figure it's pure speculation. The Suns really don't have enough to get the deal done, and I'm not sure you really want or need him. They already have Cabarkapa page down it sounds like BS to me.

It was written that he spent the off season in the weight room (shades of Shawn Marion), but still is not a power player.

He is listed at 7'0", 225 (HoopsHype has him at 243). He is playing only 8.6 minutes a game and hitting only 38.2%. His rebounding is only 1.3 rpg, which is rather low (it is less than Googs per minute).

His supposed to have good offensive skills, but HoopsHype says he is a defensive liability.

His salary is $2.72 million this year rising to $4.11 million in 06/07.

Skita - Exactly what we not need.

One of the biggest european busts so far. He was a scrub in europe he is a scrub in the NBA. No surprise.

His numbers are awful, he is long but he won't help the Suns needs any at all and once Zarko comes back what is the point of having a similiar but much worse player riding out his rookie contract on the Suns bench or IL?

I got greedy and tried gettin a deal where phx recieved brent barry from sea, and skita from denver. We sent out jj, googs and fillers.

Got so close, but it was declined. Now my head hurts and I give up.

The premise was

Phx sends JJ and Googs for Barry and Skita

Denver sends Skita and White and jon barry
for Radmonovic and JJ

Sea send Barry and Radmonovic and Potepenko
for White, Googs, Jon Barry.

The idea was sea gives up Radmonovic and Barry for a good prospect in White, but more importantly moves a lot of contracts (james was also inluded in one version)

Denver gets JJ and Radmonovic, as big upgrades over Skita and White (not to mention they actually fill needs), but they have to take back a couple contracts (giving away jon barry)

Phx send outs JJ and Googs for Skita and Barry. A pure shooter and another foreign project. They loose googs salary break, but Barry's contract also ends this year. Later I might try and get one to work, but I just don't know if it is possible.

Seattle would never do that.

They are loaded with guards anyway.

I don't think the Suns are going to trade JJ so quickly. He showed improvement, he shows signs that he can be a star.

Corey Magette also needed what 4 years and now is definately a star type of player.
The Suns have to be patient with JJ or they will pay for it.

We have Shawn and Zarko at the 3, Amare at the 4, there is no spot for Skita here. We also have nothing they want. Nuggets would not be interested in JJ or anyone else for that matter. Remember this guy was a number 4 pick, they will not trade him away too easily and they know he was always a 2-3 year project.

Having said that, Skita is not in a good situation and will suceed somewhere else other than Denver-the suns won't be the team either....

I think it's more likely to see Rodney White in a Suns uni than Skita. How about you trade experts figuring out a worthwhile deal for him? JJ for White??

White is on the last year of his contract, $1.947; so he is likely to be most interesting to someone looking for a salary dump.

His shooting numbers are pretty good, but his rebounding is not that impressive for a guy his size.
