Why are you only talking about pot? Are you just completely ignoring that there's still a domestic abuse case on top of the weed that was pushed until after the season to adjudicate or just forget about it? That's what has people worried (at least me). That we could be looking at a two-time player conduct offender.

This is my bigger concern. This is not only not settled but I have a hard time rooting for anyone who hits or abuses women. So I'm not convicting him of anything but it has to be a concern for any GM with a brain, right TJ?

it's pretty ironic that Finest basically accuses a lot of us here of being brainless, projecting on to us that all our fears are based on Washington smoking pot, while completing ignoring the domestic abuse/possible two time offender of it all.

And if he says - no - then what?

Then K9's plan has more merit.

Hey DWash, you done smoking pot and hitting women?

Yes sir, I have learned the error of my ways and seen the light.

Great, now to help ensure you are reformed and to protect the team we want so new language in the contract. Any new charges for violating NFL banned substances or legal charges against you then you forfeit 80% of your roster bonus. Shouldn't be an issue for you because you "have learned the error of your ways and seen the light".

Yeah boss, I'm not signing that.

Sorry to hear that Daryll, we will be trading or cutting you shortly. Take care son.

Daryl is not a bad guy, at all.

He was party to bad situation which involved 2 people making poor decisions.

With that said, what is gained from cutting him? Moral validation? "Hey league, look at the Cardinals, we had a bad dude that we kicked to the curb! Pats on the back now being accepted!"

You know what would happen? The rest of the league mouths would water and theyd be calling us morons as they scrambled over each other to sign him

It's not just about Morale high ground. K9 posted in another thread that he would cut DWash so we could afford to re-sign Los.

I think DWash has learned his lesson but he may still have another suspension coming from the (alleged) domestic abuse.

What SK has to do is try and determine how many years Los has left and if DWash is done with the negatives that have landed him in trouble.

There are more than two parties to this agreement. There is also the league and the players association, all subject to the CBA. I would doubt there is any provision in the CBA that allows addendums to existing contracts without approval from all parties. They could trade him or cut him, but if it was because he refused the addendum, there'd be ramifications. IMO.

Let's see how the legal matter turns out. The present details on the confrontation are certainly not as egregious as those facing the Colorado Avalanche goaltender, who is accussed of kicking his girlfriend after knocking her down.
