The Good News: Colledge in the fold.

The Bad News: Diminishes my hope for all of these other terrific signings that were supposed to be a secret. Why let just this one out of the bag? Make me think there aren't others. Hope I'm wrong.

It's his agent releasing the information.

I'm ambivalent on this one. We need guards, but Colledge was the weakest link on the Packers' line and is more of a zone blocker. I hope this is the first of multiple additions to the o-line.

Checking Green Bay forums the fans seem less than worried. Refer to him repeatedly as the worst of the starting 5.

Yay!!

Great signing.

That's what I've been reading.

Yippee.

That means he would've been the best player on our line last year.

He has no ties to the Steelers so I'll believe it when I see it on Friday afternoon. I'm betting they bail on him and get Starks instead.

If this pans out to be true, I'm reasonably excited about this addition. The guy has shown a fair amount of talent, and regardless of being the "worst" on the Packers' line, he's most likely still an upgrade for us. A Tweet I read earlier today made it sound a lot like the depth guys they have there are pretty talented, so it's nice to pick up a guy that beat them all out.

However, his Twitter says that he'll make an announcement when the decision is done, and he's not going anywhere yet. That was a few hours before this was posted, so it might not be entirely true, but I'd be disappointed to see him go elsewhere.

Cardinals agreed to terms with OG Daryn Colledge on an undisclosed contract.

The Packers allowed Colledge to walk because they want to force themselves to get better at the position. Colledge started 76 of 80 games in Green Bay since being drafted in the second round back in 2007. This is the first of several moves up front for the Cardinals, who are revamping a poor pass-blocking line.

He will make a very good LG, IMO.

Sidenote: I hate trying to gauge OLinemen. You always think you know but then some OL dynamo with these epic breakdowns makes you look silly (thankfully I am used to that).

From what I have seen from the Packers, the guy can play, and play well.

Couple of things:
1. Team DIDN'T announce this, so they probably are holding off until deals are signed on Friday. As others have posted. No reason for Pariah to lose faith.
2. No matter what Packers' fans say, he was a STARTER.

True.....I've got some crow sauce for those who said we'll pick up zero help.....of course they'll say Colledge sucks....but as someone pointed out he probably becomes our best OL.

Who cares what their fans say. As soon as the Cardinals lose a player, this board is full of people talking about how "he wasn't that good anyway, good riddance." Even for Boldin, Rolle, and Dansby. Happens every time.
