here I'll let a Packer reporter by the name of Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentential do the talking here. His comment today : Match not made in heaven: Ex-#Packers G Daryn Colledge, Cards HOF O-line coach Russ Grimm. One's a real tough guy, the other one isn't.

Good luck with him. His boneheaded plays at the wrong time is going to frustrate the crap out of you Cardinal fans. Five months from now you will understand that comment. LOL!

Its funny all the Packer fans come in to bash him.

Your offense has been pretty good the last couple of years, and he's been a starter on your Oline. You guys won the superbowl with him. These are the facts no matter how bad you say he is. Plus he's better than what we've got dont you know?

We got him for a good price, if you're also happy he's gone then it's win-win! I dont hear anyone saying he is All Pro.

I'm not so sure I would call five years, $28M, $8M guaranteed, $14M in the first two years as a good deal for him. I would call it the Cards overpaid. Oh and I am not bashing him , He's a very likable guy. He just isn't that great of a guard.

Just got off the phone with a buddy of mine in Green Bay.

He said Colledge was a good player. 6 year starter. He was sorry to see him go but he couldn't see the Packers paying him that kind of money with Rodgers, Matthews, and Jennings all needing extensions and Finley being a free agent next year.

He apparently is a big locker room guy too. Does some interviews or something. Not sure.

For a starting Guard? Look around the NFL and get back to me ok?

Rodgers and Jennings were already extended. Matthews still has 3 more years on his contract.

And if he re-signed with you, he'd be the next coming of Willie Roaf

We get it

He seems to think the team will need to renegotiate after this year on those guys. I don't know when you guys rework stuff so I don't know.

He definitely wanted him back. Not trash. Not your best lineman but still very good. Seems to be a fair assessement to me

You mean the 6 year 60mil contract you gave rodgers in 2008? Before he was a superstar and Superbowl champ?

Yeah you guys will be redoing Rodgers deal next season. Count on it.

We had a good laugh about the Vikes and Bears too. His wife is a Bears fan. They have a two story house to accomodate football Sunday.

This isn't about a player holding out like TO. The packers are going to extend him before the deal comes anywhere close to expiring. It would be foolish not to do so.

BACK ON TOPIC. You've stated your dislike of Colledge, got anything else useful or did you just come to argue?

HE is an average LG that is an upgrade from what we have at LG over the past few years. Upgrade, yes. Superstar, no. IF we had a better line, this would be far less impactfull.

The two-time MVP signs a seven-year deal with the Green Bay Packers that is reportedly worth between $42 and $48 million. The pact includes a $12 million signing bonus.

Favre signs a 10-year, $100 million contract with the Packers. "No player in the NFL identifies or is more closely linked to a specific team like Brett Favre is to the Green Bay Packers," says general manager and head coach Mike Sherman. "He embodies the spirit and character of Packers fans everywhere. I do not think there is a player in the NFL that experiences a relationship with the fans like Brett Favre does. That is very, very special." Favre could be the NFL's first nine-figure player, however, the contract, which includes a $10 million signing bonus, is basically a six-year deal for salary cap purposes. The final few years of the deal call for extremely high salaries that Favre will never earn. He has said he doesn't see himself playing beyond 2006, the year he will turn 37.

I'm trying to think more from my memory banks, and I think Colledge is pretty good at pulling.

I really love this signing. We need a tackle though. So I hope we can address that.

I think we're going to be quite happy with this signing. Is he elite, no, but he's going to open some holes for us and allow the potential for big plays to happen.

This was a good move by Graves.

Well, he DID start on that team that won the Super Bowl for five years. But I guess by the high standards of Arizona linemen he's merely a backup.

lol, he's mtl still a starter here. I was high on him coming out of Boise St. Above average pass protector and has good experience. Is a winner.

Interesting . . . Exactly when do you think Ted Thompson took over?
