I've kind of stayed clear of the the Mike Jurecki bashing because the guy actually has been really nice to me when I have talked to him at training camp over the years, but this junk he is spewing about Dennis Green is getting really old.

Here are some guarantees he has made over the last 5 years that have been totally false:

Early August 1999-Rob Moore will sign his franchise tender in the next couple of days.
Reality-Moore holds out until 3 days before the start of the regular season.

Early August 1999-Eric Swann looks great. He should be ready to go sometime late in pre-season.
Reality-Swann missed the first 6 weeks of the regular season and never again became a full time player due to the knee problem.

August 2000-Jabarri Issa has wonderful potential. He reminds me of a young Eric Swann.
Reality-Issa was horrible.

December 2003-Jim Fassel is the #1 guy on the Cards wish list.
Reality-Fassel wasn't the #1 guy on any teams wish list.

Early January 2004-My sources tell me that if either Ben Roethlesberger or Eli Manning is available the Cardinals will definitely select one of these players.
Reality-Wrong again Mike.

Early January 2004-Emmitt Smith will not be playing for the Cardinals in 2004.
Reality-Smith is our starting back in 2004.

I have a few more but they are escaping me at this time.

Heck you could say the same thing about anybody whether they are a coach or in the media. You can find more guarantees from DG in the last 5 months that weren't true.

Guarantee - Shipp is my guy and will have 1500 yds and 10? Tds.

Reality - Demoted Shipp soon after.

Guarantee - This team will win 10 games.

Reality - DG said that to regular people not the media so in his skewed world it doesn't really count"

Guarantee - We drafted Docket because he is ideal as an under tackle.

Reality - Docket is an ideal under tackle, I mean DE, ooops I mean under tackle or maybe DE. Whichever it is I knew it from the time we drafted him.

Guarantee - We have the best offensive system in the league it's just that the players suck at executing it

Reality - Well we don't know yet but what we do know is that it damn sure isn't DG's fault that the O is struggling.

He also gaurenteed that Frank Sanders would be resigned and that Trent Dilfer had agreed to terms and would sign with the Cardinals....don't remember what year that was.

I remember the year the Cards signed Kendall, they had also had Jeff Hartings in for a visit. Jurecki said Hartings was the Cards top priority and that he was going to sign. Well, he signs with Pittsburgh (Detroit?) one afternoon. Jurecki comes on the air and goes on this big rant about how the team blew it's chance to get a good lineman because, "according to his sources", there was NO WAY they could get Kendall, and Kendall would sign with Seattle. The very next morning, Kendall was a Cardinal.

"I guarantee this is the year that Barry Bonds will hit .400" Mike Jurecki Nothing to do with Cardinals, but it was a guarantee.

Smith got bumped up more because they felt the need to have some veteren leadership in the huddle considering they were going to start a very inexperienced QB. No one, absolutely no one knows how many yards or TD's Shipp may have had this season, so your point that someone isn't being truthful isn't really valid.

Guarantee - This team will win 10 games.

If I tell you I'm changing jobs privately, but I don't tell a room full of people I work with the same thing, that's just picking and choosing who you want to have certain info. I don't have any problem with this at all.

Guarantee - We drafted Docket because he is ideal as an under tackle.

Reality - Docket is an ideal under tackle, I mean DE, ooops I mean under tackle or maybe DE. Whichever it is I knew it from the time we drafted him.
This is petty. They drafted him to be the under. They used him at end to bring some depth and rush to the position. He's ideally an under, but has the talent to play more than one spot. Nothing dishonest here.

Guarantee - We have the best offensive system in the league it's just that the players suck at executing it

Nice finish there, C. You sure your initials aren't MJ? Your posts being anti DG don't hold water. I don't look to my head coach for insider information. I look for him to change a perenial loser into a quality football team. I could care less if he buddies it up with the local media, or if he ruffles a few fans along the way. I want a coach that builds a team, I would think we all want that, but several seem to want to see this guy fail because he doesn't stroke us just right. We've got some priorities out of line.
