Replacing talent in the NFL is easier said than done. However, for Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead, the plan was already in place before the departure of franchise legend Cooper Kupp, who was released earlier this month following eight seasons in Southern California.
Stepping into the position of the former Super Bowl MVP is three-time All-Pro Davante Adams, who signed a two-year, $44 million contract on March 9th. Now heading into his 12th season, the star wideout will team up with another All-Pro in Puka Nacua to form a two-headed monster in the passing game for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford.
Despite not stepping on the field together just yet, CBS Sports’ John Breech ranked his top five WR duos in the NFL for 2025, with the pair of Rams pass catchers taking the initial spot on the list at No. 5.
Following a breakout second-team All-Pro rookie season in which Nacua finished with 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns in 2023, injuries in 2024 prevented the former fifth-round draft choice from becoming the first-ever Rams WR to achieve back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in his first two years.
Meanwhile, Adam brings over a hall-of-fame resume and, at 32, has shown no signs of slowing down as he finished last season with 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight scores while playing three games for the Las Vegas Raiders and 11 for the New York Jets.
The addition of Adams, who will play alongside Nacua, along with other key players such as Tutu Atwell and veteran TE Tyler Higbee, should enable the Rams to maintain what was already a top-10 passing attack last season into 2025.

The only thing that slowed down Puka last year was injuries. He only played in 11 games, but he almost had a 1,000 yards. One would think with a clean bill of health and with Matthew Stafford back on the saddle, he's going to do numbers. ... When you look at Adams' skill set and his ability to create separation, the playcaller in Sean McVay and the quarterback, these two guys are clearly a top five wide receiver tandem.
