It didn’t take long for Davante Adams to realize he would not be back with the Jets.

The now-Rams wide receiver assumed his fate as soon as Aaron Rodgers, his longtime quarterback, described to him the February meeting in which head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey told the QB he would not be back.

Adams had golfed with Rodgers in Las Vegas the day before that meeting in Florham Park, N.J. The pair planned to golf again once Rodgers returned, Adams told The Athletic.

“He was just in such a bad mood [after the meeting] that he hit me up and was like, ‘I’m not coming back, bro.’ He’s like, ‘This was horrible; they just disrespected me completely,’ ” Adams, 32, said in the interview published Tuesday.

“I thought he was being a little dramatic at first. I’m like, ‘Bro, don’t paraphrase it. How did he say this?’ [But] that’s how he said it. And I was shocked because I didn’t think anybody had the balls to, for lack of better words, to hit him with it like that.”

Adams’ interview came out days after Rodgers detailed the meeting from his point of view, saying on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show” that he flew across the country on his own dime for a resolution he felt could have happened over the phone.

Rodgers said he expected to “have this long conversation” but was told 20 seconds into the meeting that the Jets were going in a different direction.

The Jets released Adams on March 4 in a cap-saving move, but the wide receiver said he saw it coming as soon as he heard about Rodgers’ experience.

“It was shocking, but right from that moment, I knew there was no chance that I’d be back there,” Adams said.

Adams, a six-time Pro Bowler, became a favorite target of Rodgers during their eight seasons together with the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets acquired Adams in a mid-October trade with the Las Vegas Raiders and were 2-4 when the wide receiver made his team debut.

Jets owner Woody Johnson had already fired head coach Robert Saleh by that point and would fire general manager Joe Douglas after Week 11.

Adams finished with 67 receptions for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games with the Jets, but the team finished 5-12.

“The leader in me likes to think that if I was there earlier, I could have had a bigger impact and maybe changed some things — just the morale of the team, getting guys used to winning and that different type of culture,” Adams said.

“But getting there Oct. 15th is not an ideal time to make too many changes.”

Adams signed a two-year, $46 million contract with the Rams in March. Rodgers, 41, continues to weigh his options, which include signing with the quarterback-needy Steelers or retiring after 20 NFL seasons.
