That's quite a spread there. If we still had a 6th round pick this year I'd do the deal for him to be a back-up, though I'm not sure of his cap number and how that would influence a deal.

5m in 2007, 6m in 2008.

Don't like him at all...bigger fraud than Plummer.

I think the Browns or the Cowboys take him. If the Eagles don't sign Garcia, they might also make a move for him. Just hunches.

He will definitely be given another shot but I can't see anyone keeping his current deal unless they are willing to hand over the starting job...and who would be dumb enough to do that?

Cards will not be interested as long as Warner can play. Look for us to take a kid in the low rounds or pick one up after the draft in Free agency.

Carr is no Plummer. Carr has the tools to be an all-pro, IMO. He's a pocket passer who's never had the benefit of a pocket.

Jake is a mobile QB who's mistakes make his overall ceilling very low, but is capable of greatness in short spurts.

If we don't look at a middle-round QB this year, I think it's short-sighted. Unless, that is, management is willing to fork over some big bucks for a vet on the downside of his career to back up Lienart in the next year.

i really like carr and would love to have him in seattle - just not more than who is already there

put him on a team with a good OL, receivers who run consistent routes and a hair of a running game and he'd be top notch

I don't understand why the texans didn't take one of the big 3 qb's in the draft last year. How could you have gone wrong with leinart or young? Carr has never been a winning qb. I don't know what he can do. I hope he does well for himself in the future because he does have talent. But why just let carr go when just one year ago you were saying he was your franchise player?

No doubt he has the physical tools, it's the mental part he is lacking, IMO.

Carr was sacked 5 times all year more than Carson Palmer and Palmer got it done...Houston does not have a running game but there were 11 teams who rushed for less yards than Houston and Cincy was one of them (only 1 of the 11 teams passed for fewer TD's than Hou...and that was Oak). Palmer had 28 td's vs Carr who had 11. Carr also had 1 Pro Bowl WR just like Palmer.

Carr has TD totals per year of 9, 9, 16, 14, and 11! I won't even get into the INT's but those totals wouldn't be good anywhere. He has not shown improvement...

You either have IT or you don't...I don't think he has the IT!

While I think it's hard to judge what Carr can or can't do based on the lack of support that he's had, I think last year under Kubiak he did improve. His qb rating of 89(I think) was pretty good and an improvement over past years and I think he led the league with 68% completion and he didn't turn the ball over much. Nothing earth-shattering or definitive about his numbers but overall, he did improve. He's not Kubiak's guy though so I can see where he would be expendable now. It's a shame really, with all the crap that Carr went through with during the expansion years it's kind of sad that he's being discarded for Plummer(allegedly). I think Tampa Bay could use a good QB, Minnesota, Martz has raved about Carr's physical tools in the past so Detroit "Might"(with a capital "M") be interested, Cleveland, Oakland...hey, I just thought of that, maybe Plummer could be throwing to Moss in Houston next year! Basically I think there will be a lot of teams making offers for Carr. Maybe not big time offers but you never know, Houston might get something good out of it. I think the change of scenary will be good for Carr too. There's just too much pressure on a guy when he is "the franchise". Washington might be a good fit, too. I'm not sold on Campbell at all and it sounds like Brunell might be done(serious shoulder surgery).

Yeah, not to make excuses but bad offensive line and bad weapons plagued his career. OK, bad actually doesn't begin to describe the weapons. He lead the NFL in completion percentage with Eric Moulds, a possession receiver in the twilight of his career, and Andre Johnson, a great receiver finally with enough experience to contribute. That being said, his overall array of weapons would probably be ranked 20th or so. This was his first year with both weapons, it gets uglier when you go back. At one point in 2005, his four wide receivers consisted of Jerome Mathis the special teams specialist, Jabar Gaffney the guy cut by the Eagles before the season and just now producing for the first time in his career, Derick Armstrong who's out of the NFL and playing for the Blue Bombers and Corey Bradford who's out of the NFL.

I have tremendous faith in David Carr as a starter. Minnesota is the only team looking for a starter and I think they'll get Garcia. Buffalo, Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Miami and Washington all might be looking for more production from the QB spot. I could see him in navy and orange. He has the toughness, enduring all those sacks. To leap from a guy with the accuracy of Grossman to the accuracy of Carr, that's a good trade-off. Plus, I hear Carr is a great teammate and leader. I look at Rex as kinda clueless and quiet when he brings in the huddle. They have too much money tied up in quarterbacks though.

How can you say that?? The guy has played behind the worst o-line in the NFL for several years and still at times looks respectible. Didn't the guy set an NFL record last year or the year before for being sacked like 70 something times??? Come on man, how can anybody know what this kids got playing scared at every snap??? I'd say he'd be a great addition in Chicago because what I have seen of him, he's a much better QB than Grossman! He's too expensive to be a backup here or I'd consider it.

Exactly...also, Carr has done more with way less talent than Plummer has had in Denver.

They are going to stay with the Jackson kid.

if the raidiers are not going to draft russel or quinn then i believe they will make a trade with houston to get carr. those capp numbers are a lot cheaper than it would to sign an unproven player like russel or quinn. if there was ever a case where a change of sceenary would do a player good, then this is it.

Perfect example of how you can ruin a young QB by starting him in his rookie year behind a tissue paper line. He took a horrific beating during his brief pro career.

I'll bet you that he flinches even when an old lady passes him on the sidewalk.
