I think that is hard to say with a bad O-line. If we had a better O-line we would have a better idea as to what this offense is capable of. Right now when we do run it tends to go nowhere and when we get pass heavy the rush starts getting home every time.
I think it’s more play calling/scheme.

I don’t think the OL is as bad as people make it out to be. I think they are put in a no win situation with this scheme.

I’m not saying it’s a good OL but it’s not as bad as KKs scheme makes it look.

When a 4 man rush is beating you for an entire game, the line is bad. Sure if you give them help with TEs and are near perfect with your playcalling it will make them look better, but their inability to slow down a 4 man rush is inexcusable.

RB is insignificant in Kks offense.

Ezekiel Elliot, Jim Brown, Walter Payton...whoever, would all be limited in the KK pop gun offense.

RBs don’t matter. They’re largely interchangeable. That said, some smart people think that RB is even more important in a spread offense, because the threat of the run opens up those internal zones.

I don’t know if David Johnson is willing or able to do this job, but I’m willing to give it a little more time.

Our line wasn't precisely stalwart during his first couple of seasons either.
Come on now. Are you saying it's even relatively close at the moment to his sophomore year?

I'm not happy about his lack of performance over the years but he clearly has talent and is being stunted by a variety of reasons. It seems to be improving but not at the expectation that was set. Hopefully as everyone gets more accustomed to everything all of this continues to trend the right way.

We'll see

David Johnson doesn't look like the same as the 2016 guy, but Kliff is not helping with all this 10 personnel stuff. It would be nice if he would mix it up a little and get some power running going with 11 and even 12 personnel. Kliff needs to do more adapting to the NFL.

I put this all on K2. The man was hired to fix the offense. He was given an Heisman trophy winner, DJ and Fitz. No excuse to not fix the offense and DJ.

It is the same barometer Wilks was judged with. Defensive guru could not get anything going with perennial pro bowlers in P2 and Chandler Jones.

Cards did the Go Bold or Go Home this offseason. K2 will be going home after 2020 if this offense stays under Wilks line of competency.

Define "fix the offense" because the offense is significantly better this year than last and will likely get better as the season progresses.

Also that Heisman trophy winner is a rookie in his first few games, DJ appears to be a step slower and Fitz is not exactly a tier 1 NFL receiver at this point in his career.

Steve Wilks took the #4 defense by DVOA in 2017 and turned it into the #17 defense in 2018.

So far, Kingsbury has taken a historically terrible offense in 2018 and turned it into the #27 defense the next year — and doing so by adding...

...

...a late-round WR pick? An OG no one wanted?

This offense needs better players. I've said it many times: This team is trying to produce with two below-average #2 WRs and a bunch of guts that would struggle to keep a roster spot on most other NFL teams.

I actually think that OL matters less in this system and that we need better talent at WR. Another candle on the birthday cake will likely help some with Kirk, Isabella, and Johnson, but I still think we need top-end talent.

That's why I said K2 gets until 2020 to be significantly better than where they have been last year and three games into this year. Disagree?

The offense is already significantly better than it was last year.
This is undeniable. You can disappointed that there hasn't been a bigger improvement in relation to the rest of the league, but you can't deny that it isn't significant improvement from the previous year.

20 points in the first 3 games last year. 21.3 PER this season. I can’t take off my shoes to count on my toes but that’s three times as many points even for ASU grads.

The offense is better than last year. Significantly? We will see. But yes this beats the alternative.
