DJ does make a bit of mental mistakes, at least he owns them.

#AZCardinals RB (David Johnson On what went wrong on third down (3rd and 6) before the missed field goal:

“I just ran the wrong way, I was supposed to stay to the left and we ran it to the left and I made a wrong read.”

I will say this about DJ...on some of his runs, where he's stuffed at LOS, he has a FB...and he's not following him. On more than one occasion, I noticed the FB open a huge hole, but DJ going a different direction. He really needs to get more comfortable and follow the lead...

#31 is clearly frustrated for whatever reason & I think it’s affecting his play whether it’s play calling, Oline or coaching.

I noticed some heated words on the sidelines between he & coaches briefly & Pasch & Wolf saw it & commented as well.

Does he mean he missed a hole, or he was supposed to run left to center the ball for the FG attempt?

Noticed the same and also him waving his hand in disgust at the sideline after a run lost yardage. This coaching staff starts to lose players like Johnson they will be gone.

I have never seen such a snake bitten organization.

If they re-sign a player, they fail spectacularly, get hurt immediately, or find themselves in substance abuse situations.

If they do not re-sign a player, the replacement pales in comparison and the player not re-signed goes on to the next team and succeeds.

It has gotten to the point, where I cannot even assign blame, I just in amazement of it all.

It's just your imagination it's not like we are cursed or anything silly like that :)

We once used our first round draft choice on a kicker..... 1978 Steve Little taken 15th overall, that kicker did NOT fair so well after we cut him, he had a car accident and was paralyzed the accident happened on the night we cut him.

The kicker who replaced him?

Neil O'Donoghue who is famous for missing 5 field goals in what is widely regarded as the most infamous / WORST MNF game in history AND......

The kicker they both replaced?

Jim Backen, who is still the all time Cardinal scoring leader.

Oh and we drafted Joe Namath with our 1st round pick in 1965 but he refused to sign instead went to the AFL, the rest is history.

I remember early on when ESPN was brand new and had a much lower production budget and they all just had binders for the draft with player bios in the binders. Still remember the pick comming in and they couldn't find the guy we drafted in their binders.

I could go on and on.

I said to my wife, who is learning the game, (on 3rd and 6) This should be a "safe" pass. Maybe a screen to one of the backs. And then we RUN! Ugh!

Speaking of screens...WHY is Chase NOT being used? GOOD GRIEF! Let's keep running our speedy/shifty guy into the middle of the line. DOUBLE GOOD GRIEF!

Mark in SC :)

Sad to say, I'm actually pulling for 0-16 now (SORRY, Fitz') so we can have the #1 pick. I don't think we've ever had a #1 pick before.

Which brings us to the subject of "football paranoia."

We lack it.

What I mean by this is that we must continually think about "what could go wrong" and make 100% sure we don't do that.

To kidnap an expression from BA, "Don't be that guy" (who shanks the FG attempt, allows the RB to outrun him to the perimeter, fails to wrap up, blocks the wrong dude, drops the gimme etc.).
