Was thinking the same thing. He didn't land on his wrist at all when he fumbled... but he did dive when he tried making the tackle...

Great, now we just have to wait for him to be ready to play NFL football. Sitting him out all offseason didn't really accomplish anything. He looked rusty, not ready to get hit, and got injured in the first game anyway.
Hopefully he is now adjusted and ready to go. But, being injured, he probably won't practice, so..............

I thought he'd injured his sternum. The trainers pulled up his shirt to look at it when he was on his back. Plus Larry's reaction was more than just a "he hurt his wrist" reaction.

Honestly i dont really buy into this line of thinking... Many many top flight RBs For many years have been kept out of pre season just to avoid possible injury and from game one they are studs and good to go... Emmitt SMith in Dallas .. Adrian Peterson in Minny... Marsgawn Lynchhad like 10 toiuches in pre season and hadent played in 2 years... Yet looked good to go... Im sure there are many more... Levian Bell hardly gets any touches in pre season etc... Whether you like it or not the team has to protect their most valuable asset and right now that is DJ... He is this team's future and face of the franchise moving forward.... I am completely OK if they want to keep him out of pre season as much as possible.. I think everybody else should be too... jmo
That was when he got his air knocked out of him. He played more after that. Well, one or two more plays, then he hurt his wrist on a catch, fumble, tackle.
I realize that. I should have been more clear. I thought the earlier play was a more serious injury and I expect (hope) they'll do an MRI on his chest as well as his wrist.
I agree. I think that guy who made the initial post was overreacting to a poor loss.
Cause seriously, teams do this every year, so I am with you.
Man, a poster on another site just said he heard Ian Rapoport say it is only a sprain and that he might not miss any games. Must have been false info.
