It is impossible for a team with a poor bullpen to be successful in this league. You get a brilliant performance from your starting pitcher and 5 runs off of a guy who had a 2.84 ERA coming into the game. What more could you ask for? If you don't solidify your bullpen then whatever you invest in the other pieces of your team is a complete waste.

Once I heard Schlereth went to U of A I know the situation was hopeless. Much like the situation our team is in until we get some freaking bullpen bodies that aren't total garbage. George Sherrill out of Baltimore would be a start. This bullpen is worthless, an absolute disaster.

Why Pena? He is absolutely terrible. He is absolutely terrible and if you look close you can see the urine run down his leg in pressure situations.

Agree. He pitched horribly yesterday, throwing 28 pitches and surrendering two runs in one inning. Why did he start the 8th inning? Putting Schlereth in that situation was tough for him. You could sense Sutton had the same feelings. This 8th inning was terribly managed.

and it REALLY sucks because i spent 200 bucks on the DTV baseball package when the dbacks looked like they may turn it around... its pretty clear now they won't...

We are up 3 runs to our division rivals with the bases loaded and our best option to turn to in the bullpen is a guy who less than a year ago was pitching at the college level. That tells you ho pathetic our bullpen is.
