Got out of the 8th with no further damage. Still 8-7, gotta get 3 more outs.

God Valverde makes me so nervous, I hope he can close this out, because if the Dbacks end up taking 2 of 3 from both SD and LA, wow, maybe they are for real.

I only got to see about half the game, out of curiosity, did the TV cameras ever show what number Kim is wearing? I recall he wore 49 for the Dbacks but I believe Davis has that now, is he wearing 48 like he did in Florida?

some homeless person just threw a full cup of scalding hot coffee right in my face at 7-11. Man, would I have been even more pissed off if I came home and found out we blew a 7 run lead as well. Gotta look for silver linings when you're vision is scarred I guess, right? good lord.

Maybe now Valverde can earn some respect? His WHIP is now about 1.04 probably so it's not like he's letting too many men on and he finally has a 2nd pretty consistent pitch working for him.

Upton, damn...come on!:(

What happened on the 2 errors? I didn't see the whole game and the game highlights on ESPN and MLB.com didn't include them. They didn't show Upton's double either.

Another great win! Do not stop!

He just dropped 2 fly balls...the 2nd one was easier and that's what deserved the "come on!"

I thought for sure they were going to blow this game. This is what separates a winning team from a losing team, taking these close games

They were both inexcusable errors..... indicators that he shouldn't be in the show just yet.... particularly when we are fighting for a playoff position. Upton really got one hit... the first one was definitely "a cheapy." He's not exactly tearing things up. Let him move through the system.

A cheapy? Please. A hit is a hit, that thing was very well hit, it just happened to be towards a defender. Plus Upton did a good job of base-running that inning and avoided a tag at home.

But I suppose you'd rather have an injured Quentin or Jeff Davannon in right?

You have to attribute the two dropped balls to Upton's inexperience and youth. I think that once he overcomes those he'll be a force. Maybe he'll beat Bonds' record. I don't think it was him that almost lost the game. I have to put it with Juan Cruz. He was all over the place.

Please try to make a cogent point. How was my point not valid? The scorer designated Uptons first hit, just that, a hit. It wasn't an error, it was a well hit ball and he hustled his butt off to get to first. I think most on this board would also rather have Upton in RF a month earlier than expected as opposed to a hurting Quentin or a completely washed up Davannon.

So where exactly was I wrong?

What the hell? Just some random homeless person who was being a dick? What did you do, how did you refrain for assaulting the fool?

I'll admit to starting to think he's legit, but it's still hard to watch him pitch the bottom of the 9th with a one run lead. Last night I couldn't even the bottom of the 9th when Nomar up.
