Dbacks @ Nationals Series Thread

[AZ Native]

A total of 3 AA starts and zero AAA starts. Comes to the majors and in his first three games is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA. That's just amazing.

I think a lot of it is just watching how he pitches. They passed over many pitchers to bring him up but watching his "stuff", I give them credit for giving him a chance. Don't talk to me about the "sample size", he has far exceeded expectations and made the most of the opportunity extended to him. Yeah, 3 games blah blah blah, he has made the most of his time here. 3 starts, 3 wins and he has looked fairly decent doing it. All I am saying, is give Godley a chance.

It sounds like he will. Between Corbin coming off the surgery and the young pitchers in the rotation, Chip is talking about a 6-man rotation going forward to ease them into a full season.

Man... over the past 45 days or so, Goldy has really been struggling. Even when he gets a hit, it's not like he is getting hard contact on the ball... I think he has only 2 HR's over the past 35-40 games. And he's striking out way more than he was during the first 2 months of the season.
Sure hope he snaps out of this funk ASAP!

Goldy with the Golden Sombrero. He's hit about 3 HRs since the middle of June and his BA has dropped about 30 points.

If it is simply that he is too pooped to pop, he should have been used as DH during the whole AL road trip.

No other player DH'ing would have been more important than that.
