I missed the beginning of the 9th when Bradley was up. How bad was it? I know he left with base loaded, that when I tuned in.

There were two singles that weren't exactly missiles they were just bloops up the middle, and on the walk the strike zone definitely seemed to shrink.

Hits are hits tho but it's not like Archie was just getting raked, they just fought off a bunch of good pitches and eeked out hits.

The great thing was Rodney coming in an picking him up. Archie has carried the bullpen all season and it was REALLY good to see Rodney save that for him.

Gotta tell you I feel pretty good about this. Big Friday Night divisional game, aces on the mound and the Dbacks stars were shining, everything kinda working as it should. Not making it more than it is but it was just really good to see us deliver when we needed to. 1/2 game back! #GODBACKS

Yeah, it was probably the best hitting they did when Zack was on the mound. Most times it felt as though they squeaked by with a win.

Corbin in trouble early. 2 on, no outs, 1 run scored already

The Rockies found a tell. They know which pitch Corbin is going to throw.

They simply can't hit on the road.
Is part of it the umps' ball/strike calls, catering to the home crowds? The business side of sports says that it is good for baseball for that to happen.

If so, the teams who outmaneuver their opponents on the road will be on top. The D-backs are big on stolen bases. That's one way. But you have to get on base first.

With shifts so prevalent, once reserved for the top power hitters in the game, perhaps the D-backs should make it a team effort to change the odds by poking hit after hit through the unguarded side of the infield. If they give it to you, take it. Then, when they reduce the quantity of shifts, go back to hitting into your strength. Until they over shift again. And on and on.

Guys, any other ideas how the D-backs can alter the odds on the road? Or is it a case of dominate at home and try to hang in there on the road?

An obvious answer is for technology, rather than umpires, to call balls and strikes. But then, well, go back to sentence #1. Baseball is a multi multi million dollar business.

I like how the TV crew starts making excuses for Owings before the play is even over.

2 errors in this inning and it's 2-0.

Great job guys. Peralta falls down and gets up then loses it in the sun and Owings just being Owings in general.

Who can we even bench at this point if we bench everyone who makes an error we will have to bring in all new players.

Idk how to fix this????

Walker pitched fantastic, I have no idea why TL just pulled him.

Add a homer and it's 4-0.

Walker should have gotten out of the inning twice and it should be 1-0

No we just need to come home. That was a lot of traveling.
Ouch! An alibi is a realization of the reason for failing. It is useless if it doesn't lead to corrective action.

Being that we can't change playing away from home during half of our games, I hope that management is saying more behind closed doors than that was a lot of traveling. Really!

Other than umps' calls favoring home teams, which we also can't control, what can the D-backs do to get closer to even the odds? If the answer is "nothing", it is the same for all of the other teams.

(Pause, pause)

On second thought, perhaps not for large market teams. Leaving us, and many other small market teams, SOL.
