Our weak point is the starting pitching staff. And with the pitchers who will be returning from Tommy John surgery later in the season, there could be an improvement.Don't care about the record... they are FAR more interesting and engaging to watch!!

So true. I am wanting to watch them more now then I did last year and try to catch all the games on TV.
I know Jake Lamb has my daughters attention. Goldy's still her guy though. This is an important step for the organization. getting people OTHER than the die hards WANTING to tune in to games. this team is young and showing reasons to be excited for the future.

This is starting out to be an exciting and entertaining rebuilding season, now being fully led by impressive people.
Yep. Help is coming. I keep telling my wife the old baseball saying "You can't win it all in April but you sure can lose it", as evidenced by the horrific start to last year's season where it was over by May.
If they can just hang around until June, Hellickson will probably be replaced by Corbin which is a HUGE upgrade, and Arroyo may or may not be back to challenge somebody's spot in the rotation. Nuno is always available too.
Either way, I think this year that the NL West is the Padres to lose (can't believe I just typed that but they are loaded everywhere).
My biggest concern early on, is how much this offense just falls off a cliff after the 5 hole. 6-9 is a sucking vortex of ineptitude. Tuffy gives you professional, Major League AB's and I'll take his defense any day sacrificing the offense. Ahmed either has to figure it out soon or get replaced.
Just gotta pray they stay healthy. We all know Kemp and Tulo will spend a bunch of time on the DL, so that may affect the Rockies and Pads for a couple of L's. Maybe Kershaw or Grienke can do us a favor and spend some time on the DL as well. One can dream I suppose.

Agree about Ahmed... Man, when was the last time thIs team had a solid hitting SS?
I wouldn't expect the D-backs to be the complete opposite this season -- worst to first.Love how teams are projected to be the worst in the league and end up the complete opposite. Hopefully it's the case with this years Dbacks

But I do expect that the Front Office and coaching staff will lay the foundation during this season.
A contrast to the Suns failure to do so in five years so far. The D-backs front office certainly has the personnel to give us hope.
