Clutch JJ...as soon as he let Counc rip it, I knew we were in trouble. Hell of a season, unbelievably disappointing way to end it. First and 2nd, no outs, middle of the lineup...F

Hope the Cardinals win tonight so I can root against the Brewers in the NLCS. If the Phillies win I don't know who'd I'd root for. Hate Philly but really don't want to see that stupid beast mode thing in the World Series.

If the Cardinals win it will be a rematch of the 1982 World Series...in the NLCS. Odd.

I'm pulling for the Brewers. I can't root for LaRussa and McGwire. Go Craig Counsell. The Brewer won't be as good next year without Prince.

The D'backs are my home team . . . just as the Dodgers, then the Mets, were when I was a kid back in NJ. And Craig Counsell is my favorite D'back of all-time

But I always had a warm spot for the St. Louis Cardinals. I guess because Stan Musial was my favorite player. A left-handed 1B who won multiple batting titles and reached to 39 HR's one year, the kind of player I dreamed about being.

So, good riddance to the Yankees and Phillies. I'll be rooting for the Cards.

But oh, it would have been something to see Kirk Gibson managing vs. the Tigers in the World Series.

Missed opportunities, maladroit play and failure to perform killed us. However, I pretty much knew we were goners when we gave away home field advantage.....

There will be some new faces next year.....
