Cruz coming off the DL to get the start against Lowe in the first game of the series.
He isnt your ideal lead off man, but he is far from the worst.Card Trader said:In other news, Craig Counsel might be the worst lead-off hitter in the Majors.

Actually, Counsell has the lowest OBP in baseball of all qualified leadoff hitters. He IS the worst. But he tries realy hard and is an alleged leader so the DBacks will play him regardless, they may even extend him.coyoteshockeyfan said:He isnt your ideal lead off man, but he is far from the worst.
Ironically, after I posted this prior to yesterday's game, Melvin did change the batting order. But sadly, it was just for "one sporadic game".BC867 said:Orlando Hudson, one of our hottest hitters in June, still bats eighth.
In fact, our three top hitters in yesterday's loss to the Dodgers hit at the bottom of the order, going 7-12. While our 3-4-5 heart of the batting order went 0-12. Over the course of a season, less at-bats for our best hitters.
Rookie Conor Jackson hitting cleanup, while out best RBI man Johnny Estrada hit seventh?
A batting order of HUDSON/BYRNES/TRACY/ESTRADA/GREEN/JACKSON/GONZO/COUNSELL is balanced and worth a try, isn't it? But not just for one sporadic game.
