Excellent game pitched by Enrique Gonzalez last night, 7 shutout innings to end the 7 game losing streak. Today its Matt Cain vs. Claudio Vargas in game two of the series.

Lest we forget, that was 7 shutout innings of one hit ball.

Here's hoping we can clinch the series tonight.

Unfortunately it didn't stay 4-1 DBacks. A Tracy error in the 4th cost them 3 runs. It is now 5-4 Gnats.

And with the anemic AZ offense, not much chance of making a better game of it. You get a good inning or tow strung together, and that's it. Tracy's error was a bad one on a double-play ball which should have preserved the 4-1 lead. Vargas just imploded after that.

Yikes, some more stellar D from Tracy! 7-4. But this is what we should have expected - a middle of the road team with gaping holes in the lineup and suspect D at the corners of both the infield and the outfield.

I'll give you Gonzo but not Green, he's been pretty solid

He's been good at hitting for average but little else. Corner OFs need to hit for power even if they're aren't making $10 million per season as Green is.

Perhaps Green's defense hasn't been too bad this season, but it has been sub-par during his stay in AZ. He got a much-needed HR last night, but I think that the team needs more power from him, especially with Gonzo amounting to pretty much nothing.

Blah. Losing AND giving up a long ball to Barroids. Not a good night.

Or a good Thursday afternoon. Was up to 8-0, last I heard.

What do you mean, who's leading? :)
