Maybe this is where we can get it turned back around. Right now, we're fortunate that the NL West has been much crappier than the preseason predictions. Enabling us to keep a solid lead while we've sucked pretty badly.

I think this team fell in love with the home run, with that early success, and has forgotten how to win with pitching and defense.

great win. loved what todd walsh said about how excited they looked for the next game. thats the feeling it looked like they had early in the season. they aren't old boring vets. they should be having fun.

AND

i noticed with upton, early in the season, he was swining at everything, but he is that talented that if he lets it rip, he can hit .320 now he is striking out looking all the time, and missing pitches he can hit because he is tentative. i don't like the strikeouts, but if its 2 for 4 with a homer a single and 2 k's, ill take it over a golden sombrero looking 3 times.

That's odd, Tracy has played OF in the past. I guess the team is taking it slow on his injury recovery and don't want to subject him to the running an OF position would need.

Melvin wants to get Tracy's bat in the lineup.

That's the only thing I can think of. Conor has been playing a decent first base.

More of the same for the DBacks. Awful defense in the bottom of the 4th leads to at least 3 runs thus far. 3-0 Mets. The team really gives me little reason to watch these days. I only watch for Upton, Young, Drew, and Webb. Upton is sitting tonight so Sally can play right. Brilliant!

Why did Melvin hit Tracy in the 9th against Wagner? Chad does not hit lefties well.

Watched it all. Tough, tough loss. Edgar will take the brunt of the criticizm but Chad Tracy made himself a mockery of a first baseman tonight.

We are still in 1st and seem to be rallying from our collective funk. I'll watch tomorrow.
