Well, we've reached the end, the final series of the season. Sunday we say goodbye to Gonzo and company at what is assured to be a memorable game. Peavy pitches against Batista tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure seeing as they put the number 4 on the field and that Counsell has said he isn't coming back that it was a foregone conclusion.Judging from the lineup it wasn't like Melvin was looking to get Webb another win for the season. I'm sorry, I don't see the need to have Counsell play this entire weekend and today. It's not even a foregone conclusion that he's not coming back.
Umpiring was horrid to end it. The 2nd base umpire probably forgot it was a force and called him safe, then realized it was a force and that the throw beat him so he changed it. Problem was Greene didn't have his foot on the base, so he was safe anyways. Really awful way to end the season, just awful.
I imagine the Dodgers gotta be pissed right about now.
F**k the Dodgers. If it doesn't say Arizona or Diamondbacks on the front I don't care.
I almost feel betrayed by MLB after that...such a bullsh!t call. I know nothing but pride was on the line for us, but it didn't have to end our season on such a terrible call.
Point well taken, however they DID get hopped out of the NL West crown there.
