Hot off of a four game sweep of the Astros, Arizona travels to take on Philly. Davis gets the start tomorrow, luckily the Dbacks do not have to face Hamels this series.

Philly has been better of late. They are coming off a three-game sweep of ATL.

We can take 2 out of 3 here and they better. Losing this series could lead to another cold streak in our up and down season. The Mets are next so this is an important series.

Young still a little tender, he's out of the lineup but available off the bench.

A couple of filthy strikeouts for Davis with a man on third, including one on Howard.

I think Reynolds success has been rubbing off on the guys. CoJack is really coming on the past few weeks, which is great news. Reynolds is once again hitting the snot out of the ball. This guy is amazing so far. 3-0 Diamondbacks!

What was up with Davis swinging 3-1? Blah...

I was thinking the same thing. Did you notice the tv guy thought Howard had hit a homer and put one run on the scoreboard right before commercial? And yes, that was a great slide by Reynolds.

Davis pitches 8 strong innings, only giving up a solo HR to Ryan Howard.

Papa Grande will try to close it out in the 9th.

Clark walks, Byrnes and CoJack have back to back doubles, 5-1 going into bottom of the 9th.

Agh - Valverde in with save NOT on the line, promptly puts first two on-base...

Valverde strikes out two in a row, then gives up 3-run bomb to Gil freakin Dobbs.

Still 2 out.

Dback's continue to fall apart - CoJack error puts runners on the corners.

Ugh... bad error on Jackson, but this nonsense from Valverde is ridiculous.

Why did Melvin just sit Valverde? Yah he isn't pitching great, but did he make Conor Jackson stink? I dont think so. That really irks me, I think Jose couldve gotten the last out and now who knows what you've done to his confidence. Why not put Tony Clark in for Jackson to punish CoJack? That wasnt Valverde's fault.

I tend to agree, and really, why was Valverde in the game to begin with? Why wasn't anyone else ready to go in case the Dbacks pushed the game out of a save situation?

The error wasn't Valverde's fault, but the three run homer and all of the control problems are. And Tony Clark has already been used.
