Great win last night. We didn't play the best game ever, but we scratched out the W. What a clutch HR by O-Dog. To answer my question from last night, it sounded like they do shoot off fireworks for a D-Backs HR :)

Yes I was at the game and they shot the fireworks for a DBacks home run.

I was at the game as well, section 115. It was good to see people actually wearing home team colors. Although, the t-shirt give away probably had more to do with it then people actually buying merchandise.

I hate how everybody left early. It's opening frickin day and we were only up by one!

Oh, and I liked the "Rally Backs". At least I liked the female ones.

I stayed until the last out.

Hate to say I told you so..... A sellout and largest opening day crowd in Dback history. Damn fairweathers

I was at the game and there were so many empty seats it was pitiful. No way it was a sellout or the largest in Dback history. Chase Field history maybe but not Dback history. We were in the World Series for heavens sake and there is no way there were empty seats. Sad they have to inflate the numbers and announce it was a sellout. Things like that is why AZ Sports and its fans get a bad rep around the country.

We are wearing the red jerseys! I thought they were just for away games only and that the black was for home only. Now I can finally get around to buying a jersey. I wanted the red one but I didn't want to get one that they only wore on the road. I was thinking about just buying the home white but now I think I'm gonna get the red. I like having a jersey that the team wears at home for some reason lol. They look good.

I was under the impression that white and black would be home, and grey and red would be away. They may just be wearing the red ones tonight as a one time only deal to show them off in front of the home crowd, a lot of teams do that with new unis.

I dunno, I guess we will find out for sure in time. I thought the black was home and red away too. I hope they wear both at home and on the road. I remember when the Astros used to do that but they ended up getting rid of their black ones which was disappointing because I liked those better than their reds. I like our red better than the black though, but I would definitly like to see them wear the black every once in awhile. I like a variety in uniforms.

Phoenix just isn't a very good baseball town. I don't know that it's the people or fans' fault, the team just isn't really established in the city yet. The Suns have been established and have had a couple of generations worth of fans, and they seem to do pretty darn well and I think they sell out most games. I'm watching the game and I've noticed that there aren't a real whole lot of people in the stands with D-Backs gear on. If you watch a Dodgers or Yankees or Cubs, etc. game on TV you will notice that it seems like every other fan in the seats has a hat and or shirt/jersey of the team on. I went to St. Louis last year, and it's almost staggering how many people wear Cardinals gear to their games. Literally everyone had on a Cardinals hat or shirt of some sort. It's just a great baseball town. Phoenix isn't there. That's not to say that it never will be but it definitly isn't yet. It's interesting how that type of thing works. If the team has success over the years and builds a good fan base, I see no reason why Phoenix couldn't become a good baseball town and a very good sports town overall. With great baseball weather nearly all-year around, kids can get into it by playing a lot of organized baseball and start to love the game. I could be wrong, but that's just my theory. I think it just takes time to establish a solid fan base.

Byrnes' song when he came up to the plate was "Jump" by Van Halen. He is officially my favorite D-Back now.

I understand that not every seat was filled, but the game was a sellout. You couldn't buy a ticket to the game, they were all gone. As for how the announced attendance was higher than the one announced for Game 7, since 2001 Chase Field/Bank One Ballpark has gone under a handful of small changes that has slightly increased the total capacity by something like two hundred seats or so. Changing the configuration of the suites, the addition/subtraction of things like the Diamond Club and Lexus Club, those type of things have a slight impact on the number of total tickets sold over the last few years.
