What a way to lose this game. You can't blame Valverde. There are others who deserve to take the blame.

Just throw your straight fastball over the heart of the plate Jose! It doesn't have to be at 98mph

wow, that's a horrible way to possibly lose a must-win game... and probably the series.

I'd still take my chances with Valverde over Nippert or Gonzalez.

Team effort or lack thereof in some cases for this one. Don't give up yet, folks!

Why Melvin kept Valverde in makes no sense. He never threw that many pitches before in one game. That is the Bob Melvin we are used to see managing.

Put the bat on the ball, don't over swing. A HR would be nice, but need to just get base runners.

Son of a bitch.

Left Papi in just too damn long. I'm sure they didn't want to pull him so they could make the switch, but now it doesn't even matter.

You can't blame Valverde. It's the nature of the position. There's a reason most elite closers usually only pitch one inning at a time (aside from the obvious). They have a killer instinct and are not mentally conditioned to sit on the bench while their team bats and then go out again. It happens to the best of them...
