He's my baby. Wanted him pre draft, called for him in the draft thread and he's been even better than I thought he would be.

He still have so much to learn too. He's surviving right now on physical talent. Just wait until he gets the experience and learns the nuances of playing CB in the NFL.

(And the not so nuanced like not standing behind the receiver on hail mary's)

I watched that game against LSU when he grabbed the Florida players shoe & tossed it lol. Little did I know I was watching our future starting CB. Glad we have him now, he's playing well, especially for a rookie. Love how he used the sideline yesterday as an extra defender against OBJ.

I still don't consider that LSU play as bad. I doubt any (or many) NFL scouts did either. He made a great stop that was going to win the game and while pumped up just saw the shoe on the ground and threw it. He didn't throw it at anyone or aim to hurt anyone. It was just a reaction without any thought.

Anyone ever spoke to the guy off the field would know he's a smart guy with good head on his shoulders. Was just pure emotion.

I don't think he fell because of the shoe. He fell because his play dropped off the last couple of years, mainly due to the scheme and how he was used.

Random thought I was having about the Hail Mary… has anyone in the history of football tried to replace 2 deep safety’s with 2 of their best receivers in a situation like that? I wonder if it’s not a bad idea to put Hopkins and green in on an obvious situation like that. They’re not “covering” anyone- they’re going up for a ball that is anyone’s ball at that point.

We had D Hop in on one earlier I can't remember if this year or last year. Someone did it against us too

Todd Grantham sucks as a DC. His scheme is to blame for Marco Wilson's play mainly yes. That being said.........i'm glad cause it allowed him to slip & end up getting drafted by us.

Yep we were the drivers of the shoe throwing bandwagon

Pats used to do this with Randy Moss. It’s still astounding to me that Marco was the only one who contested that catch. There should be like five guys there.

That shoe thing was absurdly overblown. It reminded me of how panicked fans got about drafting Suggs because he got in a little scuffle before the draft. Then, the team panicked and traded down for Skillet Hands and Calvin Pace, who got good after leaving the Cardinals.

Right??

That’s backyard ball at its finest. In fact, it’s how we used to determine the guys who picked the other guys.

Btw- my experiences didn’t happen in my back yard- they occurred in made up fields in various retention basins in Mesa!!!
