all that said.. I was looking at the wrong year! Deadpool came out in 2016, not 2015 like that list of movies I rattled off above.

But even in 2016, I'd still put Hell Or High Water, Arrival, Moonlight and Hacksaw Ridge above it. The rest of the choices for the Academy that year were pretty underwhelming and it was a pretty weak year for movies in general.

Like I said, for me, it wasn't. The first 45 minutes were great and then it turned into a raunch-filled relatively conventional origin story, complete with the damsel in distress at the end who needed to be saved.

Different strokes for different folks. But I don't know how anyone claims Fury Road, Room or Spotlight were overrated.

I know a ton of people who thought Fury Road was overrated. Room’s first half was brilliant and completely fell apart in the 2nd half for me. I thought I was watching a documentary on therapy. Spotlight I forgot to mention above with Ex-Machina and Revenant. I enjoyed that one too.

Saw this tonight, loved every minute of it, even the opening 30 minutes before the story picked up.

The first Deadpool suffered from another poor Marvel antagonist, but this one handed it much better.

I saw this yesterday with two of my kids. I thought it was good, not great.

I LOVED the first movie, it was fresh, different and hilarious. This second movie did not have that same magic for me. Especially when they repeated things from the first movie like, "Here's Deadpool with a big piece of metal jammed through his skull." "Here's Deapool with two limbs ripped off again. Here are the jokes about how little they are and his penis."

So, if they keep this following a formula in #3, I am afraid that will be the first Deadpool movie I will be bored stiff by and really dislike.

This was pretty damn awesome. A little slow up front but quickly starts rocking and rolling with great action and humor.

Highlight of the movie is the X-Force’s first mission together. Instant classic sequence.

And the song during the final action sequences at the torture school.

Oh, and the final stinger in the credit which is completely ridiculous.

The wife and I went and saw this over the weekend and agree. We loved both of the DP movies. So much fun and irreverent.

Saw this for the second time tonight. Drags at one point but for the most part it was still fun.

One new thing I caught was at the end...
when the group is walking away before the credits, it’s a wide shot of the whole destruction they caused. In the corner was the water pool that Juggernaut got electrocuted in. Didn’t notice it before, but this time I saw that Juggernaut is still alive and climbing out of the water. Just a split second but it was there.

Yeah, saw that at the end.

Also, I was thinking that I was going to be laughing like crazy like I did when I watched the first one, but I didn't laugh much in this one. Really liked it but it wasn't as nearly as funny as the first.

This movie was awesome! That whole sky diving scene was classic. Pitt was a nice surprise.

Awesome.... Awesome I say!

Fun little fact Rhett Reese co-wrote both deadpool movies and he grew up in AZ and he's a huge Suns fan. He's a regular on the Solar Panel podcast

Best fun fact... my best friend and I used to call him "Booger-butt".

Worst fun fact... now he won't return my calls!

Saw it again tonight. I liked it better this time around--LOTS to love about it--but man, that beginning is painfully long. 30 minutes until we even get a Cable intro. That needed to be 10-15 minutes at most.
