yeah - i recently bought season 1 for my dad on DVD and he burned through them ...... they have DTV so I'll have to give a call this weekend

the show was just put together so well, i can't think of much I didn't like about it

i'll definitely allocate some DVR space

Oz is also a really well done program, but a little intense - my wife enjoyed most of the program, but had trouble getting through it (she still hasn't finished the series) ........ because of that I'll probably not start recording it until it gets well down the line

I think it's even more sad that nobody watches the quality shows anymore. There's the root of the problem right there.

No kidding! The mindless drekk that most of the unwashed masses prefer is mind-boggling. Yeah, I sound elitist, but I do have a low opinion of the average joe's intellect.

Look at the number one show on television (and has been #1 for years). Watching a bunch of teenagers belt out crappy 80s songs and showtunes. Hard to compete with that.

Tell me about it. Depressing as all get out. Almost as depressing as the fact that, were he alive today, Shakespeare would be writing nothing but schlock to sell to the masses because he only cared about the bottom line. Ugh.

Just finished season one. Great series. A shame they went the cancellation route. Did they end up doing those two movies?

It won't. It's too late for anything to get done on this show.

It's one of my top 5 shows of all time, but if they were going to do a wrap up movie, I'd much prefer they do one for Carnivale.

What a shame. Just started season two. It's Shakespeare meets the West. Love it. Great acting all around, but McShane definitely impresses.

I'll be stunned. From a budget/scheduling issue alone, it would be near impossible to get that whole cast back. Olyphant and McShane have become major TV stars since Deadwood and pretty much every bit part in that show have gone on to headline either movies or TV shows. That cast would cost a FORTUNE on top of how expensive it is to do period.

I'd love to see it, but like I said, I'd be stunned.

Not to mention that HBO is not going to do this without profit potential. The movie wouldn't bring in a casual fan base and it would basically be for the hardcore fans. That would severely limited revenue potential. Mainly because as Cheese pointed out the cost just to get the cast back alone....ouch.

I would love love love to see it happen. It would just be a surprise.

The article I posted also says they're finalizing a two season extension for Game of Thrones as well.

there's not even a script yet according to the article. With 24 and X-Files' reboots YEARS after they were over, it's definitely possible, but I'll still believe it when I see it.

Just finished up the last season. The ending was a bit anti-climatic, but still solid. Damn good show, a shame it was cancelled so early. I'm hoping the movie pans out.
